Camu camu

Camu Camu (Myrciaria dubia) is a fruit from the Amazon region that grows on riverbanks and in floodplain areas. The small, cherry-sized berry, alongside acerola, is one of the richest fruit sources of vitamin C in the world. It also contains secondary plant compounds such as flavonoids and anthocyanins, which give it its characteristic reddish colour. Because the fruit is very sour, it is mainly processed as a powder or extract.
