Niacin
Niacin (Vitamin B3) can be partly synthesised by the body from the amino acid tryptophan. It contributes to normal energy metabolism, to the normal function of the nervous system and to the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes.
Niacin also supports normal psychological function and contributes to the reduction of tiredness. Foods rich in niacin are meat, fish, wholegrain products, peanuts and mushrooms.
