Amino acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and are therefore involved in almost all biological processes in the body – from muscle building and metabolism to immune function. Of the 20 proteinogenic amino acids, the body cannot produce eight itself; these are therefore classed as essential and must be obtained through the diet.
