Stinging nettle
The stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) is a wild plant widely found across Europe that, despite its reputation as a weed, ranks among the most nutrient-rich native plants. It is naturally high in iron, potassium, calcium and silica. Both the leaves and the root are used, each exhibiting different constituent profiles. In traditional cuisine, stinging nettle is also prized as a wild vegetable and as a tea.
