Flaxseed oil is one of the richest plant sources of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an omega-3 fatty acid. It is cold-pressed from flaxseed and should be stored in a cool, dark place.
Flaxseed oil is suitable for use in cold dishes and should not be heated, as its valuable fatty acids are heat-sensitive.
