Organic evening primrose oil - unrefined - pure - cold-pressed - 250 ml - from Unimedica
The evening primrose is truly unique: while most flowers close their blooms at night, it awakens and opens. A genuine natural phenomenon. At the same time it is a sign of the strength and vitality contained within it, as it speeds up its metabolism so much that you can almost watch it bloom. By midday the following day at the latest, it has faded. Evening primrose oil is extracted from the seeds of the evening primrose and is known as a rich source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).

Produktinformationen
Unimedica organic evening primrose oil contains 90% unsaturated fatty acids. Unimedica organic evening primrose oil contains around 10% gamma-linolenic acid alone (the constituents of natural products are subject to natural variations). Replacing saturated fatty acids with monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet contributes to maintaining a normal blood cholesterol level.
Unimedica organic evening primrose oil is obtained from the seeds of the evening primrose family. The evening primroses are cultivated under strictly controlled organic conditions. After harvest the seeds are gently cold-pressed. This preserves the valuable constituents in the pure plant oil without additives as far as possible. Approximately 10,000 seeds are required for 1 g of oil. A flowering spike produces hundreds of seeds.
The evening primrose originally comes from the tropics. After it was brought to Europe as an ornamental plant in the 17th century, adapted new varieties now also grow wild here. Most species flower here in high summer. The flowers open extraordinarily quickly within a few minutes shortly after sunset. This probably gave them the name evening primrose.
While the taproots can be eaten as a vegetable, the leaves and flowers are suitable for salads but also as leaf vegetables. As a medicinal plant the evening primrose is especially widespread among the indigenous peoples of North America. Today evening primrose oil is valued for refining salads, mueslis, smoothies, dips or marinades because of its high content of unsaturated fatty acids, but also as a skincare product and as an ingredient in cosmetics.
Each bottle of Unimedica organic evening primrose oil contains 250 ml of pure, virgin, cold-pressed evening primrose oil from organic farming.
