Produktinformationen
Hemp oil in unrefined quality from organic farming for a special enjoyment
The oil from the seeds of the time-honoured hemp crop can be used in the kitchen to enhance salads and other dishes, for baking (below 165°C) and also in cosmetics for skin care in many ways. The high content of unsaturated fatty acids makes hemp oil particularly valuable. THC and cannabinoids, by contrast, are present only in trace amounts.
Our hemp seeds come from certified organic farming and are processed by a gentle cold-pressing method. This process ensures that all valuable constituents and the slightly nutty, herbaceous flavour of the oil are preserved. Only the oil from the first cold pressing, which has the highest concentration of the natural constituents, is used, making this organic hemp oil particularly high-quality.
Unsaturated fatty acids for balance and wellbeing
Hemp oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which can contribute to the maintenance of a normal blood cholesterol level when they replace saturated fats in the diet.
Hemp oil naturally contains the important omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in the optimal ratio of 1:3 and also provides other valuable bioactive compounds. This balanced ratio of fatty acids is rare in the modern diet and can help support a healthy lifestyle.
Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that our body needs but cannot produce itself. They are crucial for the formation of cell membranes and play an important role in numerous metabolic functions.
Alternative dietary sources of unsaturated fatty acids
In addition to hemp oil, unsaturated fatty acids can also be obtained from fish, flaxseed, walnuts and certain vegetable oils. However, organic hemp oil offers a particularly favourable ratio of these fatty acids for the human body in its composition.
What is hemp?
Hemp (Cannabis sativa) has long been used as a useful crop for the production of textiles and rope, culinary oil and essential oil. The herbaceous plants have finger-like leaves and strong fibres, which make them interesting as a crop. Industrial hemp contains almost no THC.
Hemp also has a long tradition as an intoxicant. However, only the resinous flowers of the female plants are used for this purpose; these are not used for hemp oil as a food product.
Range of effects*
Replacing saturated fatty acids with monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet contributes to the maintenance of a normal blood cholesterol level.
*Health claims approved by the European Food Safety Authority.
