Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae) and is a well‑known wild plant that grows on meadows, sheep pastures and along field and roadside margins. It is known by many folk names: stomach‑ache herb, bloodwort, blood‑staunching herb, women's herb, Frauendank, cat's herb or daisy herb.
Yarrow herb has traditionally been used in many ways – as a home remedy, as a culinary ingredient and even for dyeing textiles.
