Organic Matcha Powder: A tea with tradition
Organic matcha powder is finely ground green tea. Its name literally means "ground tea".
Our organic matcha powder is made from the shade-grown leaves of the tea plant Camellia sinensis and comes from the Kagoshima region in Japan.
Gentle processing preserves numerous nutrients and secondary plant compounds, which give it the bright green colour and the characteristic mild-sweet to slightly astringent flavour.
All in green for an ambitious start to the day
A pure matcha in the morning or a creamy matcha latte – a small ritual that brings calm, focus and energy and helps you start the day clearly and powerfully. Matcha holds a special place as a ceremonial tea. The preparation ritual focuses the mind and relaxes. Drinking matcha awakens the spirits and provides an energising start to the day. However, because of its caffeine content it should be consumed in moderation and is not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Preparation:
1 | Sift 1 g of matcha powder into a bowl or cup to avoid lumps.
2 | Add 70–100 ml of water (approx. 80 °C).
3 | Whisk briskly with a bamboo whisk (Chasen) or milk frother until frothy – using gentle W- or M-shaped motions.
4 | For a matcha latte, pour over frothed milk and sweeten to taste.
Matcha powder in all its variety
Traditionally matcha is whisked in a bowl with hot water. This means it is consumed unfiltered with all of its components.
Matcha powder is also used for matcha lattes, matcha ice cream, smoothies, lemonades or even baked goods. Its colour is often used by the food industry as a natural colouring.
Each pack contains 100 g of matcha powder.
Vegan, organic and additive-free
