N-acetylcysteine capsules from Unimedica contain 250 mg of N-acetylcysteine per capsule. It is produced naturally by plant fermentation. Free cysteine is very unstable. N-acetylcysteine is the stabilised form of L-cysteine.

The body synthesises the endogenous compound glutathione from N-acetylcysteine. From middle age the body is less able to synthesise glutathione. Stress or an imbalanced diet can also increase the cells' requirement for glutathione.

L-cysteine is also a precursor for taurine, which is involved in the development of the nervous system, retinal cells and heart function.

Each jar of N-acetylcysteine capsules from Unimedica contains 90 capsules. This corresponds to a 3-month supply.

Vegan and free from the following additives

Vegan capsule shell made from pure plant cellulose (HPMC), free from carrageenan and PEG.

N-acetylcysteine capsules from Unimedica are, in accordance with legal requirements, free from additives such as colourings, stabilisers, preservatives, anti-caking agents like magnesium stearate, and are non-GM, lactose-free, gluten-free and vegan.

Never again without it!
I am very active and therefore enthusiastic about N-acetyl cysteine. The properties and experiences of NAC are very complex. I have more energy during sport (greater endurance) and more motivation. It is a power antioxidant and has an anti-inflammatory effect. It has a powerful effect against skin blemishes. I no longer have chapped skin. My brittle hair is softer, less hair loss and grows faster. I also take NAC because it protects against toxicity and has an anti-inflammatory effect and is therefore important for thyroid problems. NAC also has an expectorant effect and promotes expectoration. I now always have it in reserve because it is a well-researched and effective remedy for severe lung infections such as pneumonia. NAC provides me with my body's own antioxidant protection. N-acetyl cysteine has the advantage over L-cysteine that it is better tolerated and has a higher biological availability. It is also less sensitive to oxidation. An important sulphur-containing amino acid that covers many needs and that I can highly recommend.

Still little experience with N-acetyl cysteine.
We can't say much about N-acetyl-cysteine after 10 days. I only read that it is also supposed to be a mucolytic. We had always bought NADH, but a click error led us to NAC. We alternate between S-gluthathione, NADH and milk thistle (silymarin) for liver health. The liver urgently needs bitter substances like people need air (avoid sugar and alcohol). At night around 1 o'clock is the active time of the liver, according to biorhythm, this active time robs sleep if there are not enough bitter substances. - From NADH -under the tongue-, we have experienced that it gives an energy boost in the morning, a kind of refreshment or kick in the morning for performance-orientation. We find "S-Acetyl-Glutathione", known as the mother of all antioxidants, interesting. It protects the mitochondria - the so-called cellular power stations - and detoxifies the liver and body cells. Glutathione is even said to have the ability to regenerate oxidatively depleted antioxidants. We take 200-300mg S-Glutathione alternately. Fresh organic vegetables and fruit with a high glutathione value: asparagus, avocado, garlic, onion, curcumin, potato, pepper, kohlrabi, radish, broccoli, pumpkin. - Dark berries, walnuts, bananas, apples. !!! Glutathione levels drop enormously due to overcooking!!!

Dear Nikolina, I have been giving my son (now 10, since he was 9...) NAC & S-Acetyl-Glutathoin (the best!) at the same time between meals (i.e. on an empty stomach if possible). How? I take a teaspoon, put some liquid honey on it - then I open the capsules and 'sprinkle' one part each on the honey. As it has a sulphurous flavour, it is easier for the child to take. Always add a glass of cold water straight away, as it is better tolerated 1. on an empty stomach and 2. with plenty of water. Approach the amount slowly. An 8-year-old child needs a little less than half of the capsule contents. I give my son (he is very tall) about half. He tolerates it very well and has not been ill since. He used to ALWAYS have something in the winter months. I also give him 1 capsule a day (contents dissolved in a little water and stirred in with a wooden spoon): Organic colostrum - we would never want to be without it again. Then Vit. D3/K2 drops, Vit. C fruit gums, and zinc in winter. Summer half-year break. The toddler no longer gets sick. No matter what flu is going round in class. All the best! D.G.

What dosage should I use to make nac fully effective? Unimedica recommends 1 capsule a day but their capsules are dosed at 250mg. Is this enough? Because on the internet you can find dosages ranging from 500mg to 1200mg a day. Moreover, another equally good shop has their capsules at 550mg and they recommend 2 a day. I now understand better the price differences between different manufacturers.

Hello, may I ask what side effects you had with NAC? I'm asking because I also suffered from side effects (itchy scalp and burning sensation on some fingertips like after stinging nettles). I stopped taking NAC after two weeks. I am not sure whether my complaints were really due to NAC, as it is said to be free of side effects, so I am interested in your answer. Well, I also had the itching at the temples on my scalp. I also wondered whether it was exactly from that, but I think it was. I will try again though, because I think that sometimes it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. Maybe the nerve endings in those places are firing more than before. Just my thought...

I started taking vitamin D3, K2, vitamin C and magnesium 1 year ago to improve my poor health. I found this shop this year and found many good products. Gradually, almost all the ailments that I had been suffering from for many years have disappeared. Pain under my foot due to an accident at work and discomfort in the thumb-saddle joint and tendons were not completely gone. I took the NAC for about 2 weeks. After 1 week the discomfort became less and less, now it is as good as gone, even in my finger joints. It is the building block that I was still missing. I also incorporate many other things into my diet, such as rose hip powder, aronia powder, inulin, sprouted brown millet (silicon), Ceylon cinnamon, turmeric, grape seed flour, MSM and much more. All of these together improved my health considerably. I am very grateful for many of the products I found in this shop. My high vitamin D3 level also helped me to get rid of almost all my complaints, as I was previously totally deficient. As I have not been taking the NAC for long, I expect to see further improvements.

Why this extreme rubber tyre smell
