Für den Aufbau und das Funktionieren unseres Körpers sind 8 Aminosäuren unverzichtbar. Eine davon ist die Aminosäure Tryptophan, biologisch verwertbar in der natürlichen Form L-Tryptophan. Der Körper kann sie nicht herstellen. Wir müssen sie also mit der Nahrung aufnehmen.

L-Tryptophan ist die Vorstufe von Niacin (Vitamin B3), das für den Stoffwechsel eine Rolle spielt, und von den Botenstoffen Serotonin („Glückshormon") und Melatonin („Schlafhormon"). Das fettlösliche L-Tryptophan kann die Blut-Hirn-Schranke überwinden und so direkt im Gehirn zur Produktion der Botenstoffe beitragen, wo sie dann auch hauptsächlich ihre Wirkung entfalten.

Das rein pflanzliche L-Tryptophan von Unimedica wird von einer Kapselhülle pflanzlichen Ursprungs umschlossen und geschützt. So sind die Kapseln auch für die vegane Ernährung geeignet.

Pflanzliches L-Tryptophan aus Fermentation

L-Tryptophan Kapseln von Unimedica werden durch die natürliche und rein pflanzliche Fermentation von Reis hergestellt. Daher kommen keine synthetischen Lösungsmittel und keine anderen unerwünschten Stoffe zum Einsatz.

Wozu braucht der Körper Tryptophan?

L-Tryptophan ist als essentielle aromatische Aminosäure lebenswichtig für unseren Körper. Denn aus Aminosäuren entstehen Proteine, die Bausteine für den Aufbau unseres Körpers, und Enzyme als Turbo für körpereigene Prozesse wie den Stoffwechsel.

Als Vorstufe zweier Botenstoffe (Neurotransmitter) unterstützt L-Tryptophan zum einen die Bildung von Serotonin. Dieser auch als „Glückshormon" bekannte Botenstoff beeinflusst unsere Stimmung. Zum anderen ist L-Tryptophan an der Entstehung von Melatonin beteiligt. Dieser Botenstoff regelt unseren Schlafrhythmus.

Natürliche Quellen für Tryptophan

Tryptophan kommt auch in Lebensmitteln wie Kürbiskernen, Sojabohnen, Käse und Truthahn vor. Diese natürlichen Quellen können jedoch in Bezug auf Dosierung und Reinheit variieren. L-Tryptophan Kapseln von Unimedica bieten eine konzentrierte und sichere Quelle für L-Tryptophan.

Brilliant, they work!
I had problems sleeping through the night for many months. When I woke up in the morning, I felt like I was exhausted. The situation improved after about 1 - 2 weeks of taking the capsules. Everyone should find out for themselves, because L-tryptophan has two different mechanisms of action: on the one hand it has a mild antidepressant effect, and on the other it acts as a sleep aid. I always started with one capsule in the morning and noticed an improvement after just a few days; I was no longer so irritable and was in a better mood. After 10 days I increased the dose to two capsules a day (in the morning on an empty stomach with water). From then on, the quality of my sleep also improved. My colleague even takes three capsules a day. Everyone is different and needs a different dosage. It is therefore best to start with a small dosage and then slowly increase it. You can take it 7 days a week, because you want to top up your body with this amino acid first, before that you will only have a slight effect if you only take it sporadically, because it doesn't work like a sleeping pill. The effect sets in gradually :-)

Helps with ADHD (and important for fructose intolerance)
I once took a closer look at L-tryptophan...I originally bought it as a mood enhancer, but I no longer needed it after my "relationship break-up"...Then I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 49 (finally an AHA - now everything makes sense experience) and with "Ritalin" my unfocussed, stressful world worked better. I've had my fructose malabsorption for a long time and I'm doing well nutritionally - you get used to everything...even if it feels like I can only eat the 100th of the 1000th. And now I come to the point: I found tryptophan in the drawer and just remembered that it is also good for the brain and just took it again. Now I've actively noticed that I've reduced my Ritalin intake to 0 and can still concentrate very well (for the "non" ADHDers: neuro-atypical people CAN'T concentrate on things/tasks if they're not "interesting", this has nothing to do with discipline). I read up on Wikipedia and found that people with fructose intolerance usually have a below-average supply of tryptophan because their diet is so "special". Magnesium deficiency, stress, insulin resistance and vitamin B deficiency reduce the absorption of tryptophan. As I also suffer from a milk protein intolerance, I consume very little casein and other proteins such as soya, pea and cashew proteins, which in turn favours an undersupply of tryptophan. Through my menopause I am (finally) getting a good supply of vitamins, calcium, magnesium, biotin...(through supplements) and I am noticing strength, health, energy and good sleep like never before. But what I've noticed most is my positive ability to concentrate, which is a constant issue with ADHD sufferers. I can manage completely without Ritalin. My hypersensitivity to stimuli has also diminished!
