Vitamin D3/K2 tablets from Unimedica contain 5000 IU per tablet and are taken only once every 5 days.

Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, normal muscle function and a normal immune system. Vitamin K (menaquinone) contributes to normal blood clotting and to the maintenance of normal bones.

Especially during the darker months or when exposure to daylight and sun is not possible in daily life (e.g. shift work, quarantine or other restrictions), supplementation with vitamin D3 can be helpful. Vitamin D can only be produced in the body with sufficient sunlight.

The vitamin D used for Unimedica’s Vitamin D3/K2 tablets is obtained from sheep’s wool. Unimedica’s Vitamin D3/K2 tablets are excellent as a dietary supplement for a vegetarian diet.

K2 in the "trans form"

Vitamin D3/K2 tablets from Unimedica are particularly high-quality and effective. The branded raw material K2VITAL® MK‑7 All‑trans from Kappa contains K2 in the most effective, high-quality trans form (rather than the cis form) of MK‑7. The abbreviation MK stands for menaquinone, another name for vitamin K2.

Synergetic duo!
It was impossible for me to achieve a stable vitamin D level through my diet. The deficiency manifested itself as daytime tiredness, fatigue and irritability. I also often felt unusually cold, had bone pain in my legs, neck and shoulders. I went to my GP with these symptoms, who diagnosed a vitamin D deficiency and I also complained of hair loss and brittle nails, as well as bleeding gums when I used dental floss. As I am also going through the menopause, prevention of osteoporosis is essential. That's how I came across the vitamin D3 + K2 tablets from Unimedica, which are in the optimum dosage for me. This combination is very important, as it is only through this interaction that calcium is properly utilised in the body. I prevent calcification of my blood vessels and my bone density is stabilised. Since taking the tablets I have much more energy, feel much more balanced and my hair loss has normalised. Even my scaly and dry skin is gone and it feels well moisturised. The bleeding from my teeth has also disappeared over time. Overall, I feel back in life, much more alert and stable, because I hardly have any tension headaches anymore, which robbed me of a lot of energy. I take a higher dose than indicated and have had great success with it. This combination of vitamin D3+ K2 is so important, as both complement each other perfectly in the body.

Is this Clexane to prevent or dissolve thrombosis? My personal opinion about D3 and K2 is that there should be nothing wrong with it. As I am not a doctor, I am not allowed to give you any health advice in connection with medication. However, you could ask your doctor whether you could replace this Clexane with OPC. But what I can tell you (if you don't already know) is that OPC generally improves blood circulation and K2 can prevent hardening of the arteries and perhaps even dissolve existing hardening.

I had overlooked the beginning of your answer. In 2000 I suffered a DVT after a major operation and the thrombus is encapsulated. Now the foot of the affected leg has to be stiffened. This means 6 weeks of no weight bearing and a total of 12 weeks healing time. I have to inject Clexane 80 mg for at least that long. That's why blood-thinning supplements are probably not so good during this time.

So that there is no misunderstanding, at least D3 is not blood-thinning. As I said, there is actually nothing to stop you taking it. I understand your concerns about K2 and OPC very well. You can discuss it with your doctor and clarify it. If he advises against it, then you'll just have to wait until the end of your treatment with Clexane. You can still take vitamin D3 now, but please also take magnesium as a co-factor. If you are not yet informed about D3, I recommend you watch the lecture by Prof Dr Jörg Spitz - Vitamin D - "Hype or Hope" on youtube.

Taking it only every five days takes some getting used to. You really have to note it in your calendar. Getting into a rhythm with the intake is difficult. Even if you manage that, the daily dose units are limited to 1,000 IU. That's sufficient for the summer, but for the darker months the intake should be every two days.

I can't give a review myself because I ordered this product for a friend. I personally take D3 drops with 5,000 IU and K2 drops separately and am very satisfied with them. As my friend didn't want drops, I ordered these combination capsules for her. It's still too early to give a rating.

Unfortunately for me, too little K2.
I would also like to buy Vitamin D3 here so I can get everything from one source. Unfortunately, the K2 content is too low for me, as I already have impaired blood vessels. Perhaps sooner or later a preparation of 5,000 IU + 200 µg K2 + MK-7 all-trans could be offered? Until then I will stick with my current product.
