Vitamin C Buffered capsules from Unimedica have a high dose of vitamin C, 1000 mg per daily dose (2 capsules). Vitamin C is a pick-me-up for a strong immune system and cell protection.

A daily dose of Vitamin C Buffered from Unimedica covers 1250% of the vitamin C daily requirements of a healthy adult (percentage of nutrient reference values according to Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 (FIC)).

The vitamin C in Vitamin C Buffered capsules from Unimedica is buffered by alkaline calcium ions, i.e. it is pH neutral. Unlike other products with vitamin C from pure ascorbic acid, Vitamin C buffered capsules from Unimedica are acid-free and therefore very well tolerated.

Vitamin C is involved in many processes in the body. It primarily supports the immune system, protecting cells from oxidative stress and reducing tiredness and fatigue. In addition it improves the uptake of iron in the blood and strengthens skin, teeth, gums, bones and blood vessels.

It cannot be produced or stored by the body. So it is essential to obtain sufficient vitamin C from our nutrition.

I'd like to reply to regine..... I searched for the product by clicking on it and it says that it's calcium ascorbate. On the net this ascorbate is chemically manufactured using solvents.

According to Dr Helena Orfanos Boeckel, calcium only deposits in unfavourable places when it has to be taken from the bones due to a calcium deficiency, as the body is then flooded with it. According to her book 'Nutritional Therapy', you can safely take up to 2,500 mg of calcium daily, even if you are not deficient. It is the most abundant mineral in the body (1 kg) and most people suffer from a deficiency.

And while you're at it, please be sure to take magnesium as well. D3+K2+magnesium should always be taken daily so that D3 can work optimally. I personally prefer to take D3 and K2 separately, as it is easier to dose them as required. Please always bear in mind that a daily dose of 10 drops is recommended for K2. This is a hint because some people might otherwise panic if the dose of D3 is 10,000IU for 10 drops of these D3/K2 drops. Anyone who is informed knows that this is not a problem. I don't take the combination product because I take more D3.

I was not satisfied with the customer service for this order. On the front of the ordered product there is a misleading mg indication, namely 1000 mg. At the back it says 1000mg and underneath (2 capsules). After writing to them twice afterwards, I was "brushed off" with the same stereotypical statement that the 1000 mg refers to 2 capsules. Nothing more came, no explanation, offer, apology...Photos attached: On the left, product purchased two years ago with correct information, on the right with misleading information.

I assume that there are special health reasons for this very high dosage. Otherwise, 2 capsules a day would be sufficient. Even though magnesium is important, I am interested to know why vitamin C is combined with magnesium. Is there a particular reason for this?

I am very satisfied with the vitamin C buffered capsules from Unimedica. What I particularly like is that they contain natural ingredients and are pH-neutral. Compared to other vitamin C products that consist of pure ascorbic acid, these capsules are very well tolerated as they are acid-free. I consume 4 to 6 grams of vitamin C a day. This formula is very easy to digest and take. However, I don't know whether it has the same effects as pure vitamin C or sodium ascorbate, since it's calcium ascorbate. I still have to check with my doctor. One downside to my bill: I paid by bank transfer at the time of ordering, but before Narayana finally sent it to me, they sent me several emails to ask for the amount, to which I replied each time with proof of payment. Waste of time and delay in delivery.

Alternative to normal ascorbic acid?
Vitamin C buffered with calcium has a neutral effect on our acid-base balance. It is non-acidic and therefore particularly well tolerated. For this reason, the calcium ascorbate can also be dosed higher than pure ascorbic acid without any problems. The calcium ascorbate compound improves bioavailability and the longer "retention time" ensures increased absorption. Calcium ascorbate is the calcium salt of ascorbic acid and is also a food additive authorised in the EU with the number E 302. It is a natural and harmless substance that can be used in many ways as a food ingredient. So far I have used "normal" vitamin C preparations and am now curious to see if there will be a significant difference.

I ordered this buffered vitamin C (so logically not acidic) because my stomach is very fragile. I was very disappointed as this product is as acidic as any other vitamin C. I complained to customer service who told me that I had made the wrong purchase. I complained to customer service, who told me that I had made the wrong purchase, perhaps because of a language/translation problem (German/French). Nevertheless, no, I'm not satisfied on this point, which is essential for me.

I have been taking buffered vitamin C for two months. 2 capsules a day with plenty of liquid. I tolerate it well, have no stomach problems or diarrhoea, but I don't notice any change in myself either...
