Well prepared for every challenge in any weather with vitamin C
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is the best-known and one of the most important vitamins the body needs to live. Ascorbic acid fulfils numerous functions in the body. It is particularly important for the immune system and for cell protection, as it works similarly to an anti-rust agent. It protects cells from oxidation and thus neutralises free radicals (aggressive oxygen molecules that remain after metabolic processes).
Vitamin C is the all-rounder among vitamins
Vitamin C is also involved in various metabolic processes and in the formation of collagen for cartilage, bones, skin, blood vessels, connective tissue and teeth. Good vitamin C supply is therefore of great importance for maintaining health.
Its effect was discovered rather accidentally in 1752 by a ship's doctor. He noticed that fresh fruit, such as lemons and oranges, helped against the then-common seafaring disease scurvy. Sailors at that time often suffered from tooth decay, inflamed joints and muscle wasting. Fresh food was rarely available at sea. In 1933 Walter Norman Haworth then elucidated the chemical structure of vitamin C and received a Nobel Prize for this.

Why Unimedica vitamin C capsules?
As the body cannot store vitamin C sufficiently, it must be taken regularly through the diet. Long transport routes and storage times reduce the vitamin C content in fruit and vegetables.
Citrus fruits in particular travel a long way to reach us. To prevent them from spoiling, they are often harvested before full ripeness. They therefore cannot develop their full nutritional spectrum. They are then sometimes ripened and stored in gaseous atmospheres for up to several years.
It is better to rely on fresh local sources of vitamin C or on dietary supplements such as Unimedica vitamin C capsules.
Each jar of Unimedica vitamin C capsules contains 180 capsules. That corresponds to a 3-month supply.
