I am pleased to see that this book (which I already knew in the original) will also be published in German in 2021. The authors (neurologists) uncover causes of Parkinson's disease that are otherwise not or hardly ever discussed in this context (and unfortunately generally in connection with neurodegenerative diseases....): Environmental toxins! And in particular pesticides and a certain solvent. You first learn something about the history of Parkinson's, which is very revealing in view of the fact that the disease increased significantly with industrialisation. The connection between Parkinson's, environmental toxins and traumatic brain injury is also interesting. Various measures are described that can help to prevent or minimise the progression of the disease or, with this knowledge, prevent it from occurring in the first place. Perhaps not all measures can be fully implemented by everyone, but at least the tips provide a good orientation. Certainly, other causative environmental toxins could have been mentioned as well as other vitamins/minerals to support the body's biochemical balance and detox potential; but no book can claim to be complete. Overall, however, I believe it is an important resource for sufferers, their families, carers and therapists alike. It is time for toxicology to be given more importance in medical studies and for an interdisciplinary exchange with biochemistry/biology specialists to become standard. Medical studies are completely lagging behind here. In this context, reference should also be made to a lecture by Prof Dr Bas Bloem from the University of the Netherlands: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JKECIJDFXU&t=26s What becomes clear from his lecture, among other things: Those affected often literally no longer know who they are and are in autopilot mode...

Hello Mrs Techritz, regarding your question below - first of all, the book provides crucial information about possible causes of Parkinson's that many people may not be aware of (pesticides, solvents...). It helps if you know what to avoid. It also offers some tips for behavioural measures (e.g. exercise, Mediterranean diet, etc.), but as far as detox options are concerned, further literature is certainly useful in some cases. I recommend Robert Morse's Detox Miracle, which contains many very good tips on detoxification. LG

I am disappointed
I wanted to give the book to someone who has Parkinson's or something similar. It should bring him clarity and help. Unfortunately, the advice is rather generalised, mainly promoting the conventional medicine levodopa, even though there are so many helpful natural remedies. A difference to similar diseases such as Parkinson's (after all, doctors can sometimes make mistakes) was not emphasised. I searched in vain for the many causes of the latest research. I was really annoyed by the repeated requests for donations to organisations that want to research Parkinson's disease. I am completely disappointed and so is the person being considered.

Highly interesting book
This book offers a very good insight into the disease and, above all, what triggers it.

As I have not yet read the entire book, it is not possible to give a final assessment at the moment. But one thing I can say is that it is informative and instructive.
