Produktinformationen
The original age-old bitter secret of the teasel, newly discovered
This Organic Teasel Root tincture provides the valuable ingredients of teasel root (Dipsacus fullonum L.) in highly concentrated liquid form. Teasel is invariably found as an ingredient in traditional skin ointments, as a bitters supplement taken daily with food and to gently support the body's natural self-cleansing. Hildegard von Bingen is said to have particularly valued teasel – she described this plant from the honeysuckle family in her "Physica". Our Organic Teasel Root tincture contains the characteristic secondary plant substances of teasel undiluted and unadulterated in organic quality from Austrian farms.
Special procedure according to Storl for maximum active ingredients
Teasel root is known for its numerous secondary plant substances, including tannins and bitters. To separate the natural ingredients as gently and completely as possible from the teasel root, the crushed roots are left to soak for several weeks in alcohol (maceration). For the highest possible level of active ingredients in the Organic Teasel Root tincture, we follow Wolf Dieter Storl's instructions, leaving the plant parts in a ratio of 1:1 with alcohol. We then use the resulting solution undiluted. This preserves the original characteristics and the natural level of active ingredients from the root. When taking the tincture, you are of course free to dilute it according to your own taste.
Selected organic quality from regional cultivation
To make the teasel tincture, we use only the best roots. These come from certified organic cultivation in Austria, where the plant naturally thrives in ideal climatic conditions. We obtain the raw material directly from the Austrian farmers.
Other natural foods with similar ingredients
Similar ingredients to those in teasel can be found in the roots of dandelion or chicory, for example. These plants offer similar advantages as part of a balanced diet.

What is teasel?
Teasel is a spiky bush, similar to thistle. It reaches a height of approximately 2 metres and originally comes from the Mediterranean. It loves the sun and is found up to heights of 1200 metres. Teasel blooms with a cylindrical violet flower. Its second name in Germany means "cistern plant" since its lower leaves are intergrown, forming a kind of reservoir for rainwater.
