Produktinformationen

  • Ideal on bread or as ayurvedic "moon milk"
  • Markgräfler organic blossom honey with organic ashwagandha
  • Sustainably grown with sustainable beekeeping

Naturally delicious for breakfast, also tried-and-tested for a good night

Our organic ashwagandha honey unites the pure essence of fragrant spring blossom from the heart of Markgräflerland in southern Germany with the traditional wisdom of ayurveda. Honey has been regarded as a valuable food for thousands of years and is also recognised as a household remedy for colds, among other things. Honey in tea or milk is calming for spirit and soul. A glass of milk with honey is a traditional good-night drink – many of us know this from our grandparents. As "moon milk", honey milk is experiencing a modern renaissance as the ayurvedic variant from plant milk, made with ashwagandha, cinnamon, cardamom and other spices.

Organic blossom honey from Germany symbiotically combined with ayurvedic superfood from India

Premium, organically created honey contains numerous valuable nutrients. It feeds the bees and their offspring and is also used as a winter reserve. Honey consists of 75 % natural sugar, around 17 % water plus various enzymes and nutrients. The composition of the honey varies by region, vegetation and season of the year when the bees are flying out to the blossom. Our blossom honey originates in a collective organic honey project from the Markgräflerland, where the flower meadows for the bees are organically cultivated.

Ashwagandha is also called "sleep berry" in German. For our honey we use the organically grown roots of the ashwagandha plant in India. They are regarded as ayurvedic superfood. The roots are carefully dried and ground before being added to the organic honey. So two valuable natural products are symbiotically combined, forming a soothing preparation for a refreshing night.

The vegan alternative

For those who prefer a vegan alternative, the honey can be replaced by agave syrup, mixed with our pure organic ashwagandha powder to create a similar texture and sweetness. The nutrient combination is then obviously different.

Sustainably cultivated with exceptional quality and taste

Our organic ashwagandha honey is not just a sweetener but also part of a holistic lifestyle. It is the perfect choice for all those who value sustainably produced foods while also seeking to promote their sense of wellbeing. The honey comes from a project that encourages biodiversity and spreads knowledge of beekeeping.

For all those who want more than purity and enjoyment: Markgräfler organic honey

This honey is the result of a unique project offering bees and other insects a valuable habitat while also promoting and revitalising regional beekeeping. Each spoon of our honey carries the signature of its origin: the collective yield of the bees of the Markgräfler Winzer eG, carefully processed and stirred to a creamy blossom honey – food for the body as well as the soul.

Each glass of Organic Ashwagandha Honey from Unimedica contains 250 g organic spring blossom honey with ashwagandha.

A special mixture
The honey has an ideal consistency, rather firm but still easy to spread, not hard at all. Melts very delicately on the tongue and the taste is mildly sweet, a bit like caramel and nougat, and it just tastes delicious. You can tell the outstanding quality, and it’s also organic. In tea too it has a wonderful flavour, whether in herbal or fruit tea. It relaxes the stomach immensely and blissfully warms you up. Toast with this honey is a special treat for me. In the evening I stir it into a cup of warm milk then I’m sure to sleep deep!

Delicious and effective
I prepare an ashwagandha nightcap with the honey, which is delicious and effective. I add two teaspoons of honey, turmeric, cardamom and cinnamon to taste to a glass of warmed oat milk. Unfortunately, I couldn't convince the rest of the family.

Was previously unknown to me
I had never heard of this honey before. It doesn't quite meet my taste. But as I said, it's my taste and of course not a measure of quality. Everyone has to decide for themselves.
