What is resveratrol?

Which foods contain resveratrol?

Resveratrol is found in numerous plants, including grapes, raspberries, mulberries, plums and peanuts. The highest concentration of resveratrol has been identified in Japanese knotweed. Dark chocolate and red wine also contain resveratrol.

Japanese knotweed originates from the regions of Japan, China and Korea. It also grows on groundwater‑near gravel and shingle soils in Central Europe. The deciduous plant grows quickly.
