Comprehensive memory support
Memory* Complex from Unimedica combines a carefully chosen mixture of premium plant extracts, vitamins and further nutrients. The ingredients are designed to support mental clarity, concentration and cognitive performance. We are guided by both modern scientific insights and traditionally proved folk medicines such as Ayurveda and TCM (traditional Chinese medicine). The carefully selected micronutrients work to support the brain as well as possible.
A wide nutrient spectrum
Plants such as Bacopa monnieri, ginkgo and ginseng have a long tradition of natural support for mental performance. These are supplemented by grapeseed extract, R-alpha-lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10 and omega-3 fatty acids from algae oil, which are also valued for their positive effect on wellbeing. A comprehensive vitamin B complex contributes to full support of daily mental performance. For folate (vitamin B9) we use the premium patented raw ingredient Quatrefolic®, which supports the psyche among other things.
Important energy providers
Our brain uses 20 % of daily total energy – although it only comprises 2 % of our body mass. So that the brain can function optimally there must be sufficient energy available. Vitamin C and the B vitamin group are essential for energy supply, reducing tiredness and fatigue (B2, B3, B5, B6, B12).
For the smooth interaction between body and mind
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and the vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (biotin), B12 (cobalamin) contribute to normal nervous system function. Nerves are the signalling mechanism between brain and body. They also connect brain cells with sensory organs. A functioning nervous system is critical for the normal functioning of the entire body and for sensory perception.
Keeping your nerve for longer
The B vitamins also play a role in cell division (B9, B12) as well as cell protection (B2). The vitamins C (ascorbic acid) and E (tocopherol) also play a role here, as do zinc and selenium. Cell division is important for the formation of nerve cells and the protection of cells from oxidative stress counters premature ageing. Especially vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) is a proven contributor to the synthesis of neurotransmitters (messenger substances) and to normal mental performance. Zinc also supports cognitive function. Choline is decisive for the formation of acetylcholine, which is an important neurotransmitter for memory and learning processes.
How can our daily diet help support our mental performance?
For the memory to function properly, a full and balanced diet is required. Vitamin C, for example, comes from citrus fruit, red pepper, sea buckthorn, berries and sweet potatoes. Vitamin E is found in plant oils such as sunflower oil. Vitamin A comes from eggs, milk and liver. The precursor of vitamin A (retinol), beta-carotene, can be taken up by the body from yellow-orange fruit and vegetables (e.g. pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes, peppers, apricots) and dark-green leafy vegetables.
Vitamin D is provided by fatty fish, eggs and innards as well as by mushrooms in small amounts. B vitamins are found in wholegrain products, pulses, nuts and animal products like fish, eggs, milk and meat. Vitamin B12 is found in animal products and certain algae. Meat, fish, eggs, mushrooms, cabbage and onions, lentils, asparagus and nuts contain selenium. Zinc is found in meat, milk, cheese and eggs as well as nuts and oatflakes. Grapeseed extract (OPC) and polyphenols from green tea are found in grapes, berries and green tea, although in smaller concentrations than in concentrated extract.
The advantages of our Memory* Complex
The basis for a good memory is always a varied diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, pulses and wholegrain products. Yet the necessary amounts of nutrients are not always guaranteed. And certain foods are found almost only in animal products.
Memory* Complex from Unimedica was developed to support memory, daily cognitive performance and general wellbeing. The recommended daily dose of 2 capsules supplies an optimal combination of plant extracts and micronutrients which support the daily nutrient needs for the nervous system. We focus on valuable ingredients such as Quatrefolic® (folate) and vegan vitamin D3. DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) from algae oil is especially valuable for vegan nutrition since these omega-3 fatty acids normally occur in fish. Bacopa monnieri and Ginkgo biloba come from traditional herbal medicine and in this form are scarcely available via nutrition.
