Unimedica L‑glutathione capsules contain 300 mg L‑glutathione per capsule in its reduced, active form, corresponding to the body’s own structure. It is produced naturally by plant fermentation. Reduced L‑glutathione is the bioactive form produced by the body itself. This makes Unimedica L‑glutathione capsules well absorbed.
Glutathione is formed in the body from the amino acids glutamic acid, glycine and cysteine. A protein-rich diet together with various vitamins and minerals supports the body's own glutathione production.
From the mid-forties, however, the ability to synthesise this sulphur-containing tripeptide declines. Stress, environmental pollution, illness, inflammation or an unbalanced diet can also lead to increased glutathione consumption within cells. Glutathione is present in all cells and is involved in cellular metabolism.
