Average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars
L-carnosine is a naturally occurring substance in the body, found mainly in muscles and nerve cells. As the concentration of L-carnosine is particularly high in tissue that becomes more efficient through training, athletes in particular should pay attention to their L-carnosine intake. In the diet, L-carnosine is mainly found in meat. Adequate supply is often not achieved on vegetarian and vegan diets. In Unimedica's L-carnosine capsules there are 1,000 mg L-carnosine per daily dose.

Produktinformationen
Carnosine occurs naturally in the human body
More than 100 years ago the Russian scientists Gulewitsch and Amiradzibi discovered L-carnosine. It is found naturally in the body.
L-carnosine is especially found in muscles and nerves, particularly in the brain. The concentration is strongly elevated in muscles used briefly and intensively such as for sprinting or weightlifting. It is concentrated in tissues that become more efficient through exercise.
What is L-carnosine?
L-carnosine is a dipeptide – a protein composed of the two amino acids beta-alanine and L-histidine. Proteins are the building blocks of our body but they are subject to daily attack involving oxidation and glycation (damage to protein structures due to sugar molecules), which destroys their structure and can cause ageing.
Which foods contain L-carnosine?
L-carnosine is found above all in meat. So it is absorbed in our food but only in small amounts.
Who should take extra L-carnosine?
Our body produces a decreasing amount of L-carnosine as we get older. Adequate supplies of this nutrient via food is not guaranteed for those on a vegetarian or vegan diet. So supplementation with L-carnosine capsules can make sense.
Each brown bottle contains 60 capsules, which is enough for one month.
