Iron tablets - iron bisglycinate - with natural vitamin C - 120 tablets - by Unimedica

Different raw material:

The tablets are now gray because we use a different raw material. We made this decision deliberately as we have had positive experiences with this raw material. The new shape of the tablet (smaller and round) makes it easier to take. In addition, the tablets are now made with natural acacia fiber.

Iron and natural vitamin C support a life full of energy and drive

Iron and vitamin C not only support the immune system. Above all, they contribute to a normal energy metabolism and reduce tiredness and fatigue. Iron is essential for blood formation and the supply of oxygen to the body via the blood.

Vitamin C increases iron absorption in the body so that it can better utilize the iron from food and is well supplied with the vital trace element. An optimal iron supply is important to ensure that the energy reserves are well filled and can keep up with any drive and a turbulent everyday life.

Iron bisglycinate for an optimal iron supply

The premium raw material iron bisglycinate, an iron chelate complex, is used for Unimedica's iron tablets. This is a protein compound. Iron from meat is also better absorbed by the body than from vegetable protein sources due to the amino acid combination. Iron bisglycinate therefore ensures fewer unpleasant side effects that can otherwise occur with concentrated iron intake.

Iron bisglycinate also allows significantly lower doses of iron with the same effect due to its higher efficiency than conventional iron supplements such as ferrous sulphate.

Spectrum of action*

Iron and vitamin C contribute to the normal function of the immune system, to normal energy metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Iron also contributes to normal cognitive function, normal red blood cell and haemoglobin formation and normal oxygen transport in the body.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) contributes to increased iron absorption, to the normal function of the psyche and nervous system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

*Health claims authorized by the European Food Safety Authority.

Why take iron tablets?

The body consumes around 1 to 2 mg of iron every day. In order to compensate for the loss before the body's own iron stores are attacked, iron must be taken in with food. As iron is mainly found in meat, this can be a challenge with a purely or predominantly plant-based diet.

As a high-dose iron supplement, iron tablets from Unimedica can conveniently counteract iron deficiency, which is particularly widespread among women. Each iron tablet from Unimedica contains 40 mg iron bisglycinate and 40 mg natural vitamin C from acerola.

Each jar of iron tablets from Unimedica contains 120 tablets, which corresponds to a 4-month supply.

Made in Germany

These iron tablets are made in Germany in certified manufacturing facilities.

Vegan and without the following additives

These iron tablets with vitamin C from Unimedica are free of additives such as dyes, stabilizers, preservatives, release agents such as magnesium stearate as well as GMO-free, lactose-free, gluten-free and vegan.

Ingredients

Acerola fruit powder, iron bisglycinate, acacia fibre

Well tolerated
As my iron levels were low last November and my iron stores were almost empty, my naturopath recommended these iron tablets. After consultation, I took 1 tablet a day for 7 months as a top-up dose. After the blood test I had very good iron levels and now only take 2 tablets a week as a maintenance dose. My general condition is great, no more signs of tiredness, ..... and above all I don't get constipated when taking these tablets, as is the case with other products on the market. I give it a clear recommendation to buy!

Very effective on an empty stomach, so in the morning before breakfast. But then, if that's a problem, swallow it with a bit of food. I'm surprised that someone said to take it in the evening, because iron is more of an activity activator.

Great against hair loss and tiredness
What can iron do for your health? supports normal cognitive function Important for normal energy metabolism contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue ensures normal oxygen transport in the body contributes to the normal function of the immune system has an important function in cell division Possible consequences of an iron deficiency: Paleness brittle nails, grooving Cracks in the corners of the mouth Hair loss (most common cause in women) Dizziness and lack of concentration Mental instability Restless leg syndrome Tiredness and reduced performance Iron deficiency can lead to hair loss One of the most common reasons for diffuse hair loss in pre-menopausal women is not a hormonal imbalance, but a lack of vital nutrients, with a lack of iron playing a particularly important role. Iron deficiency can be the cause of both moderate and severe or long-lasting hair loss. The hair becomes thinner and thinner over months or even years. This problem often occurs in women of childbearing age, which is linked to menstruation and pregnancy. On average, a woman loses 10-15 mg of iron during menstruation and as much as 600-1000 mg during pregnancy. In a 2002 study, 5019 women between the ages of 34 and 61 were divided into groups with moderate, severe and no hair loss by questionnaire. The analysis of the blood tests showed that women with severe hair loss had on average a significantly lower ferritin level (laboratory value for stored iron in the body). In this case, iron therapy must be carried out over several months until the body's iron stores are replenished and an optimum ferritin level of 40 to 70 has been reached. Diffuse hair loss due to iron deficiency is reversible, i.e. the lost hair will grow back. In general, hair loss should never be ignored, as it can be an early warning sign of various diseases. It is important to realise that an iron deficiency does not necessarily mean that you are suffering from anaemia (a serious disease in which the oxygen transport of the blood is reduced). It simply means that the body is not getting enough iron from the diet and hair loss is an early warning sign of this.

Thank you, you've done such a great job explaining this. I had been suffering from hair loss for years, and it was only after an iron infusion and 8 months of taking iron tablets regularly that I realised that I could actually not lose any hair. I was shocked. At the moment it's bad again. As my tablets make me feel sick in my throat, I have stopped taking them. My hair has become thin and sparse again.

Alternative to iron supplement/ colostrum
I used to take iron bisglycinate to top up my iron stores, but now I also take colostrum, as the LACTOFERRIN in colostrum binds iron in the body without the risk of overdosing. It is so well tolerated that I take the colostrum permanently and my iron levels have been excellent and stable ever since. Lactoferrin also has an antibacterial and antiviral effect, which is very desirable in times of coronavirus. Colostrum is really recommended for anyone who does not tolerate iron supplements so well.

Iron bisglycinate 40 mg and 40 mg vitamin C recommended!
I can say with great conviction that these iron tablets are very effective. The combination of iron and vitamin C ensures excellent absorption of this preparation. In contrast to the other tablets, I have no abdominal pain or similar digestive symptoms with Unimedica iron tablets. I can take them very well. The quality is very good, as with all Unimedica products that I have tried so far. With daily use, I notice that my tiredness decreases and my hair quality improves. Thank you very much for these tablets.

Iron should be taken every 2 days 80 mg in the evening on the edge of the bed with O-juice or similar. C-containing vitamin C. If you take iron every day, the liver releases hepcidin, which inhibits iron absorption........therefore every 2 days.......

Dear Bärbel, it is best to take iron in the morning on an empty stomach. However, some people do not tolerate this so well. Unimedica also has a natural iron from curry leaf extract in its range, which is very well tolerated (link: https://www.narayana-verlag.de/Natuerliches-Eisen-aus-Curryblatt-Extrakt-Vitamin-C-aus-Hagebutten-Extrakt-28-mg-Eisen-160-mg-Vitamin-C-pro-Tagesdosis-180-Kapseln-von-Unimedica/b27514?keywords=eisen). Very well tolerated! In the last 7 years I have hardly been able to tolerate any iron preparation, which unfortunately meant that I had to top up my stores temporarily with infusions. Now I have found a very good alternative to top up my stores permanently, without having to go to the doctor and without agonising and unpleasant side effects. Thank you very much!

Unrecognised iron deficiency
It is very important to have your ferritin level (iron stores) tested by a doctor, as there are usually problems if it is below 70 micrograms per litre. Women should aim for 100, men 300. Iron, along with selenium and zinc, is essential for the normal function of the thyroid gland. Women with menstrual periods, blood donors, competitive athletes, vegetarians, senior citizens and dialysis patients, e.g. blood thinners (such as acetylsalicylic acid/aspirin), which are prescribed en masse, cause micro-bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract and contribute to iron deficiency. As symptoms such as tiredness, fatigue, sleep disorders, lack of drive, lack of concentration and impaired thinking can also be caused by vitamin D and iron deficiency, both levels must be clarified and topped up if necessary.

The first time very dissatisfied about the service annoyed
I order a lot and for several hundred euros for the whole family, so I am extremely annoyed with the service. Among other things, I order the iron bysglycinate. We have now opened a new jar and realised that the tablets now look completely different, which we were of course surprised about, as it is not stated in the description of the product on the website that they now look different. I sent an email to Narayana and asked whether these were really the right ones or whether they had been filled incorrectly, which cannot be ruled out. I received a reply saying that the batches are different. I could accept that if it was a slight colour deviation, but the colour is more than just a "deviation" and the shape and surface texture of the tablet are also different. In the hope of receiving a more detailed answer, I asked again that there can be no question of "deviation" if the tablet looks completely different and sent a photo (see below, old tablet on the left, new tablet on the right), but the second answer was the same, with the addition that it was a natural product. I didn't realise that this could also change the shape! In the second email, I asked whether they are now made by a different company and that is where the difference comes from. The only answer I got was that they are made by Narayana. I find that a really lousy, unfriendly and indifferent service. It's probably time to look around at other companies, as customer service doesn't play a role (anymore).

TOP product !!!
The iron bisglycinate from Unimedica is really a great product! I bought it because of my iron deficiency anaemia and am absolutely delighted with its effectiveness and tolerability. The 40 mg of vitamin C contained in the tablets helps the iron to be better absorbed. I noticed a significant improvement in my well-being after just a short time and now feel much fitter and more energised. I also find it particularly positive that the tablets are made from natural, high-quality ingredients and are free from artificial additives. This means I can take the product without hesitation and know that I am doing something good for my body. The 120 tablets also last for a long time, which makes the price-performance ratio really excellent. Overall, I am very satisfied with the iron bisglycinate from Unimedica and will definitely buy it again. I can recommend the product to anyone who suffers from iron deficiency or simply wants to improve their iron supply. It is a great way to support health and well-being in a natural way.

Really recommendable!
Anyone who reads reviews here will certainly be familiar with the symptoms of iron deficiency, be it tiredness, fatigue, hair loss or torn corners of the mouth, headaches etc.. My partner had a similar experience. We initially tried a preparation from the supermarket, but my partner didn't tolerate it at all as she became constipated. She tolerates the iron from Unimedica much better and the symptoms are increasingly alleviated. She is satisfied and so am I as her partner. :-)

Good experience
Hello everyone. I have been taking the iron product for 2 weeks now, on an empty stomach in the morning, and find that it is well tolerated. If you do get a little stomach ache, just eat something small with it. But that's just it. Not everyone tolerates it equally well. But otherwise I can say that I feel fitter. I have more desire and energy to do sport and am generally not so groggy (even in bad weather). I usually have a very low iron level. In June, after the blood test, I will be curious to see how the value has actually improved. But as I said, I feel good so far and can only recommend the product!

I don't understand the good reviews (it is so well tolerated). After three days it started with intestinal cramps and severe constipation. I then reduced it to half a tablet (you can easily break it in half) but still the problem. Not for a sensitive stomach.

Finally a normal iron blood value again - thank you!
Although I am a vegetarian, my iron levels were actually usually fine, which I was always happy about, as I couldn't tolerate the iron tablets prescribed by my gynaecologist (stomach ache, constipation, nausea), but now my levels were in the basement due to the well-known "women's problem" and I HAD to take something ... the prescription from the doctor went in the "P" tray, I'm definitely not taking the tablets! ... so I took the very well-known, liquid, very special iron juices, in the hope that it would work at some point ... but unfortunately without success, apart from the fact that they were expensive and quickly empty, I didn't notice anything ... My iron levels were still at rock bottom. Then I ordered these iron tablets from Unimedica, started "carefully" with half a tablet as I was afraid of getting problems again - what happened? Nothing! Neither nausea nor other problems, so I increased to the usual daily dose of 1 tablet. After almost 4 months I went back to the gynaecologist for a check-up and now my iron levels are right again, I have absolutely none of the usual side effects that you get with normal iron tablets and I tolerate them really well, so the iron tablets from Unimedica will now become a regular in my cupboard. A positive side effect for me was that my headaches disappeared and my hair and nails grew much better. Thank you very much for this great product!

I have been taking the tablets every morning for almost two weeks now and tolerate them extremely well - even though I have a sensitive stomach. Since then I've felt a bit fitter. The tablets have a metallic flavour. However, if you take them with fruit juice or with breakfast, this is not a problem. The combination with the natural vitamin C is great and the price is also right.

Highly recommended!
Every time I have a blood test, I am diagnosed with mild anaemia. Apparently I'm not getting enough iron from my diet. As I have often bought very good products from Unimedica, I have confidence in their products. The iron tablets are enriched with vitamin C, as vitamin C makes it easier for the body to absorb iron. This is therefore a very useful combination. The flavour takes some getting used to, but that's the nature of iron.

Super compatible
After 2 days of testing, I threw my family doctor's iron preparation in the dustbin and switched to Unimedica and lo and behold: I don't have to suffer, risk other illnesses or get black teeth when replenishing my iron stores! No side effects, no risk of rusty liver, as the body can excrete the excess iron bisglycinate ITSELF, unlike the preparations used in conventional medicine! And the blood values were great again after a few weeks!

Super
I have now ordered the product for the 2nd time and can therefore only recommend it. Due to a latent iron deficiency, I always have to take iron as it is simply not enough from my diet. With this product, one capsule every 2 days, I have a good value that does not cause me any complaints. I am satisfied!

Men's complaints much less
Tastes a bit like iron, not bad. I take it during the few days of menstruation to compensate and feel good. No cramps, weakness etc. Thank you

Good iron delivery
I have been taking it for about 2 weeks now and have had a blood test at the doctor's. My iron levels have already improved significantly and I will continue to take it.

Very satisfied
As I haven't eaten animal meat for many years, I balance my iron levels with food supplements. The iron bisglycinate 40mg + vitamin C from Unimedica helps me very well. It is very well tolerated. My iron level is always at the right level.

Super well tolerated!
I have already tried many iron supplements because I always suffer from a severe iron deficiency due to many fibroids. I find these tablets very well tolerated and the size is also easy to take. I feel well supplied with iron, which speaks in favour of the preparation's good absorption capacity.

Purchase recommendation
Super tablets that fulfil their purpose and also last a while. I also have the impression that taking these tablets (as well as others from Unimedica) has a positive effect on my immune system. I would definitely buy them again.

too little iron
My iron and ferritin levels in my blood are very low. I am hoping for an improvement. The classic remedies have too many ingredients and side effects. I haven't noticed any difference after 14 days of taking them.

Very good
The doctor has diagnosed me with blood anaemia and I have to take iron supplements. I take 2 capsules (only on medical advice!!!) and I can already tell that it's doing me good. Only the taste of the tablets is not so pleasant, but that is secondary. It's about the effect and it's good. With a glass of orange juice for vitamin C in the morning on an empty stomach, they are absolutely fine to take. The extreme tiredness during the day has already improved.

Ok but difficult to swallow
A little difficult to swallow. (I've been swallowing various things for years, from large to small, usually just a few things together and without any problems...but these pellets don't slide down so well) The flavour is also a bit difficult - probably because of the iron, which is so similar to blood. Why not give them a coating (glaze) or grind them into capsules?
