This natural rock salt was formed more than 200 million years ago by the evaporation of ancient seas and now lies, protected from environmental influences, 400–750 m below ground. It is completely natural and untreated, i.e. not chemically treated.
The rock salt from Natur Hurtig comes from one of the oldest salt domes in central Germany. It is mined, gently milled in traditional mills and carefully sieved. Recognised institutes monitor the quality. After all, not all salt is the same. It is characterised by a robust flavour and is used across Germany, e.g. in the catering and baking trades. The finely ground rock salt is recommended for seasoning dishes, but is also suitable for other salt applications where natural quality matters.
