Fisetin capsules from Unimedica have been developed to enlarge the choice of phytonutrients (like quercetin, for example) available to supplement a balanced and varied diet. The plant substance fisetin for our capsules is extracted from the European smoketree (Cotinus coggygria). This is where fisetin is found in very high concentrations. Each of our fisetin capsules contains European smoketree extract with 100 mg fisetin.

What is fisetin good for?

The flavonoid fisetin is a polyphenol – a yellow to ochre-coloured plant colouring. This is also partly responsible for the intensive colouring of the European smoketree. This plant contains a very high concentration of the polyphenol fisetin, causing not only the attractive blaze of colour but also acting as a defence substance against pests and environmental stress such as UV radiation, contributing to the long-term flourishing of the plant.

Which plants also contain fisetin?

Along with the European smoketree, strawberries, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, oranges and kiwis also contain natural amounts of fisetin, but only in small concentrations.
