Support for structure and composition of the connective tissue
Connective Tissue Complex from Unimedica combines carefully selected ingredients, including vitamin C, which supports normal collagen formation – an important constituent of connective tissue. It also contains collagen, a naturally occurring structural protein, as well as hyaluronic acid, an endogenous substance found in connective tissue and skin. The formula is rounded off with specially selected nutrients. Connective tissue is a multifaceted network that connects bodily structures.
Components of structural tissue
Hyaluronic acid is an endogenous substance that is found in skin, connective tissue and joints. It is known for its ability to bind water and plays a role in the natural composition of joint fluid as well as the extracellular matrix. Together with additional ingredients it contributes to the balanced sustenance of structural tissue.
Collagen is a structural protein widely found in the body, including in skin, bones, tendons and connective tissue. The collagen in our Connective Tissue Complex is in hydrolysed form. This form consists of small peptides that can be easily utilised as part of a balanced diet.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) plays a key role in collagen synthesis. It supports enzyme processes necessary for the formation of stable collagen fibres, and protects cells from premature ageing. The L-form of ascorbic acid is the natural form of vitamin C that is best absorbed.
Vitamin E (tocopherol) helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. Manganese plays a role in the maintenance of normal bones and supports normal collagen formation. Copper contributes to the normal functioning of connective tissue. All three micronutrients are components of our selected nutrient complex.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) contributes to the normal energy metabolism and normal metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and certain neurotransmitters. As a component of coenzyme A, pantothenic acid is involved in numerous biochemical reactions in the body.
Vitamin B7 (biotin) is regarded as THE skin vitamin. It contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes, skin, hair and nails.
Zinc protects the cells and supports their regeneration, contributing to the maintenance of bones, skin, hair and nails.
Algae oil powder from Schizochytrium sp. is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Among other things, these play a role in the flexibility of cell membranes. This is important for tissue regeneration.
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) as an organic sulphur compound plays a role in the structural integrity of collagen while also functioning at the same time as a building block for further connective tissue components.
Coenzyme Q10 delivers energy to the cells for all these processes, playing an important role in the wellbeing of the cells.
Why is connective tissue so important?
Connective tissue plays a central role in the structure, form and flexibility of our body. It connects, supports and stabilises – both externally as well as in the deeper layers. Factors such as age, stress, environmental effects or an unbalanced diet can impact its natural quality. A balanced supply of nutrients can help support the body in its natural composition and renewal. Connective Tissue Complex from Unimedica delivers specially selected micronutrients contributing to the normal function of skin, connective tissue and metabolic processes.
Nutrient-rich foods for a balanced supply of connective tissue
A varied and balanced diet contributes to supply the body with important nutrients, which also help the connective tissue. Hyaluronic acid, for example, is found in animal products such as bone broth or chicken soup. Collagen can be absorbed via gelatine and broth that has been cooked for a long time. Vitamin C is found in fresh vegetables such as citrus fruits, berries and kiwis as well as in sweet potatoes. Omega-3 fatty acids are available in fatty fish such as salmon and mackerel as well as in plant sources such as flax seed oil. Vitamin E is found in nuts and high-quality plant oils. These foods can be part of a balanced diet that provides the body with these key building blocks.
Why Connective Tissue Complex from Unimedica is a well-considered choice
Connective Tissue Complex from Unimedica combines selected ingredients that are natural components of connective tissue. Hyaluronic acid and collagen are such building blocks. MSM and vitamin C contribute to normal collagen formation and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. The trace elements copper and manganese support maintenance of normal connective tissue function. So our complex offers a targeted supply of nutrients that are frequently required in everyday life.
Spectrum of action*
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
contributes to normal function of the immune system during and after extreme physical exercise. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg in addition to the recommended daily intake (NRV) of vitamin C. In addition vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, normal energy metabolism, normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage, bones, blood vessels, skin, teeth and gums, normal functioning of the nervous system and normal psychological function, increased iron absorption, reduction of tiredness and fatigue and protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Vitamin E (tocopherol)
contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)
contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters, reduction of tiredness and fatigue and normal mental performance.
Vitamin B7 (biotin)
contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal macronutrient metabolism, normal psychological function as well as maintenance of normal skin, hair and mucous membranes.
Manganese
contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, maintenance of normal bones, normal formation of collagen and protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Copper
contributes to maintenance of normal connective tissue, normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal skin and hair pigmentation, normal iron transport in the body, normal function of the immune system and protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Zinc
contributes to normal function of the immune system, normal acid-base metabolism, protection of cells from oxidative stress, maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood, normal fertility and reproduction, maintenance of normal bones, hair, skin and nails, maintenance of normal vision, normal carbohydrate and fat metabolism, normal metabolism of vitamin A, normal cognitive function, normal protein synthesis and DNA synthesis, and zinc has a role in the process of cell division.
