The black maca root - a true treasure
Black maca is regarded as the most valuable maca variety in terms of its diversity and concentration of active constituents. In Unimedica's Black Maca capsules the powder of the black maca root is combined with vitamin C from acerola and zinc.
Where does maca come from?
The maca plant grows on mineral volcanic rock soils in the barren highlands of the Peruvian Andes at 4,000 metres above sea level. It is hardy, as it must cope with extreme weather conditions. According to legend, the shamans of the Inca prescribed maca after battles or hard work. They hoped that the maca's resilience would be transferred to the warriors.
Natural vitamin C from the acerola cherry + zinc
Unimedica's Black Maca capsules are usefully supplemented with natural vitamin C from acerola extract. A daily dose (4 capsules) contains 12 mg vitamin C. This covers 15% of an adult's daily requirement for vitamin C (percentage of nutrient reference values according to Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (FIC)).
Zinc complements this combination
In addition to vitamin C from acerola, Unimedica's Black Maca capsules contain zinc bisglycinate. The elemental zinc is bound to two glycine amino acids. Zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction and to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood.
