The bees' protective shield

Propolis capsules are made from propolis — also known as "bee glue". Bees produce propolis from resins collected from the buds and twigs of various trees and herbs. They use propolis barriers to protect themselves against intruders in the hive. The entire hive is sealed with it and it is used at the entrance to help bees remove debris from their feet. In this way, propolis helps bee colonies defend against viruses, bacteria and fungal infections.

What makes propolis so valuable?

Propolis contains polyphenols, secondary plant compounds with diverse properties and functions intended to protect plants and aid reproduction. Other nutrients, such as minerals, are also naturally present in propolis. The composition varies depending on the location of the hive and the plants growing nearby. It is a pure natural product. Natural medicine utilises the special constituents and properties of propolis.

Propolis capsules from Unimedica are manufactured in Germany. They contain propolis extract, encased in a plant-based shell made from cellulose.

Each jar contains 60 capsules, each with 250 mg of propolis. This corresponds to a one-month supply.

Free from the following additives

Vegan capsule shell made from pure plant-based cellulose (HPMC), free from carrageenan and PEG. Unimedica propolis capsules are, in accordance with legal requirements, free from additives such as colourants and stabilisers, free from magnesium stearate, non‑GMO, and are lactose-free, gluten-free and gelatine-free.

Wonderful addition!....
I have been taking the propolis capsules for some time now and find them a wonderful supplement to the Uniimmun capsules, which strengthen our immune system wonderfully. So far, I have only had short, minor cold attacks since the autumn, which have quickly subsided within 4/5 days. Since I have been taking propolis, I have had much fewer problems with my hay fever. As I also had a cross-allergy, I could hardly eat any pome fruit. The worst was when I ate plums. My windpipe swelled up and I found it difficult to breathe. Thanks to propolis, this is now a thing of the past. I can now enjoy Zwechtgendatschi again without any worries.

I bought these propolis capsules on 09/01/2014 and it said "250 mg per daily dose", but now it says "1000 mg polyphenols per daily dose", are these the same nutritional values? And I remember that the propolis capsules are vegan, now they are not?

That's not the only thing that has changed, the colour of the sweater is also different, lighter. It used to be pure and darker, now there's something mixed in. :( I tried to write a review here, but unfortunately it was never activated.
