What are psyllium husks?
Psyllium husks, also known simply as psyllium, are the seed husks of the plant Plantago ovata. This plant belongs to the plantain family and is mainly native to India and Pakistan. Psyllium husks are, among other things, highly absorbent and have strong swelling properties.
Convenient to take: psyllium husk powder in capsules
After harvesting the Plantago ovata plants, which are grown under strictly controlled conditions, the seeds are cleaned and dried. The seeds are then milled to separate the husks from the kernels. This is followed by sieving and separating the husks from the remaining material. Finally, the finished powder is encapsulated. Encapsulation makes the psyllium husk easier to dose and take.
