What are psyllium seeds?
Psyllium husks, also known as psyllium, are the seed coats of the plant Plantago ovata. This plant belongs to the plantain family (Plantaginaceae) and is native mainly to India and Pakistan. Psyllium husks have, among other things, strong swelling properties.
Practical to take: psyllium husk powder in capsules
After the Plantago ovata plant — which is grown under strictly controlled conditions — is harvested, the seeds are cleaned and dried. The seeds are then milled to separate the husks from the kernels. The husks are sieved and separated from the remaining material. Finally, the finished powder is encapsulated. In capsule form, the psyllium husk is easier to dose and take.
