Description
100% pure collagen hydrolysate from LIAF-certified, controlled pasture-raised, grass-fed cattle
With our Collagen Pure powder from Unimedica, we are the first German company to offer pure bioactive collagen peptides of this quality: the raw materials come exclusively from cattle from LIAF-certified grass feeding and controlled pasture farming, i.e. the husbandry meets the highest standards for animal welfare and the quality of the feed used. The pasture-quality collagen powder, with its high protein content of more than 90%, contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle mass and normal bones and supports muscle build-up.
More than 90% natural, bioactive protein
One pack contains 450 g of powder made from 100% pure collagen hydrolysate. These are pure bioactive collagen peptides of particularly high quality. The cattle enjoy a natural diet consisting of lush pasture and purely plant-based ingredients – with the exception of milk proteins and fats used during rearing. In addition, strict veterinary controls ensure the ongoing welfare of the animals.
To produce collagen hydrolysate, natural collagen is broken down into smaller parts by a process called hydrolysis. This makes it easier for the body to absorb and utilise the collagen.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that make up proteins (the proteins that form, for example, the tissues of our bodies). They are formed when proteins such as collagen are broken down into smaller parts.

Why is collagen important?
The human body consists of 15 to 20 percent various proteins. However, it cannot store these like carbohydrates or fat. And many proteins cannot be produced by the body itself and must therefore be obtained from the diet. Collagen, as a structural protein, is one of the most important of these proteins. It accounts for around 30 percent of the body's total protein content and is found primarily in connective tissue – for example in bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and skin. It provides the stable structure of these tissues, as well as of hair and nails.
In which foods is collagen most abundant?
Collagen is naturally found mainly in meat and meat products. But milk and dairy products, fish and eggs also provide protein including collagen. Plants also contain amino acids from which the body can produce collagen. Plant protein sources such as pulses, cereals or nuts and seeds are rich in such amino acids.
When is additional protein intake advisable?
Endogenous protein production declines with age. Therefore it is important to supply the body with this essential nutrient from outside. Daily food intake is not always sufficient for this, especially if little meat and dairy products are consumed. The biochemical profile of collagen is characterised by a highly concentrated combination of specific amino acids such as glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. These are otherwise difficult to obtain in the necessary amounts.
Collagen Pure is also a high-quality alternative to gelatin, as it is not denatured in the manufacturing process. This preserves the valuable components and the typical triple-helix structure of the molecule. The small molecular structure enables optimal bioavailability of the ingredients.
Optimally soluble
Our Collagen Pure powder has proven in tests to be particularly well soluble in warm and cold drinks. It has a naturally neutral odour and flavour and can be added to shakes, smoothies, coffee, tea, yoghurt and soups or consumed on its own. A daily dose of 10 g of Collagen Pure powder from Unimedica provides the body with 9 g of pure protein for muscles and bones.
