The homeopathic treatment of oral thrush

News

Yes, sometimes there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

In small amounts the yeast Candida albicans is part of a healthy oral mucosa. It helps with digestion and thus has a purpose. But when there is an overgrowth of Candida, oral thrush — medically called oral candidiasis — develops.

This imbalance can be caused by a sugar-rich diet, a weakened immune system or as a side effect of medications – especially antibiotics.

(Interesting, isn’t it? Antibiotics can cause oral thrush?)

Oral thrush – the symptomsThe gut nosodes in homoeopathic practice - John Saxton

Oral thrush can produce a very varied pattern of symptoms that often goes unnoticed. On the other hand, oral thrush can also appear as white patches on the tongue, gums, inner cheeks or throat, or manifest as cracked or bleeding corners of the mouth, excessive salivation and difficulty swallowing. Loss of taste can also be an indicator.

Oral thrush can affect anyone, but it feels worst to us when our babies are ill. We mothers hate to see our little ones suffer. A baby with oral thrush is usually restless and cries a lot. Breastfeeding causes great problems and sometimes the baby simply never seems satisfied. Unfortunately it is often the case that the baby also passes the Candida yeast to the mother and she develops a yeast infection on the nipples. This creates an endless vicious circle, with the yeast being passed back and forth between mother and child.

Borax 6 is the first remedy you should consider for oral candidiasis, especially when excessive salivation is among the symptoms. It makes no difference whether the affected person is older and suffering from immune weakness, a newborn infant is ill, or the new mother becomes infected from her breastfeeding baby and now has sore nipples. Regardless of the underlying cause, we treat the acute condition as it presents through diagnosis and the symptom picture.

There are several homeopathic remedies that can be used successfully for Candida. I have already written about the topic of vaginal yeast here. But specifically for oral thrush you should always also consider Borax 6, administered twice daily directly into the mouth. Further information on dosage and potency can be found here.

As with all homeopathic medicines, the globules are discontinued as soon as the symptoms improve noticeably.

Gentle homeopathy without side effects

Conventional medicine has antifungals available for such cases, which bring unnecessary side effects.

And why should you trade your fungal infection for diarrhoea, stomach pain or liver and kidney damage? Homeopathy offers a solution for oral thrush that gently encourages the body to heal itself — and all without unwanted side effects.

The two approaches simply cannot be compared! Give Borax a permanent place in your home medicine cabinet — it’s worth it.

And pass it on — homeopathy works!

Warmly,

Yours
