I would like to introduce you to a new fitness concept that you have probably never heard of:
If you start training again after a longer break, then please do it slowly!
The motto “No pain, no gain” is outdated. Once and for all.
I know already: young men don't like that saying at all — and neither do many young women.
But so that you can do something straight away about the terrible muscle soreness that inevitably follows the first fitness session, I want to present the appropriate homeopathic treatment protocol here.
My son normally trains four to five times a week. For obvious reasons he was unable to do that for a long time, you all know what I mean. The gyms were closed and slackness set in.
When the gym reopened, my son was like a spring that wanted to catapult him straight back into his old training routine. I don't have to tell you that he went way overboard, I'm sure you guessed that.
His upper arms ached for days after the first workout. He could hardly lift anything.
I noticed that he was sitting in front of his laptop with a very odd posture — all hunched and crooked. When I asked him about it, he just said: “Look at this, Mum, I can't straighten my arms anymore!”
Excuse me?!
Rhus toxicodendron and Symphytum for muscle soreness
The moment seemed inappropriate to introduce the concept of a moderated training routine to my son (the horse had, after all, already bolted), so instead I relied on the tried-and-tested Banerji protocols to give my son some relief.
We treated his muscle soreness as follows:
Rhus tox 200 in combination with Symphytum 200, taken twice daily until the pain improved markedly.
On the first day he took Rhus tox four times in total (twice in combination with Symphytum and twice on its own). On the second and third days he then took the two remedies twice daily according to the protocol described above.
On the second day he was already feeling better.
By the third day I had to probe and asked him if his shoulder still hurt. He had already forgotten the whole episode.
That's what I mean by “marked improvement”! That's the moment to stop the remedy. It's that simple.
Homeopathy for advanced users
My own clinical experience has shown me that Rhus tox 1,000 often works better in these cases than Rhus tox 200. However, since the 1,000 potency is a high homeopathic potency, one should be more cautious with its use. I recommend that anyone for whom Rhus tox 200 does not provide lasting relief consult a professional homeopath. Under no circumstances should Rhus tox 1,000 be taken for several weeks.
