Every day should be Mother's Day!
There is nothing – and I really mean nothing – more rewarding than being a mother. We care for our offspring. We show our children how to stand on their own two feet and look after themselves. We nurture and tend them. We love and are loved.
However, the decision to become a mother should be well considered.
Perhaps you need to think again in peace about whether you are personally or financially secure. Perhaps the brood in the house is already quite large and the family is bursting at the seams. (The more ducklings there are, the harder it is to keep them all in a row!)
Whatever the reason that you do not want to become pregnant at a particular time, there is one thing we do not need: the pill, whether taken orally or as a three-month injection.
Contraception without the Pill
I have already written about the subject of contraception, and many readers later told me about their positive experiences with the Billings method. I myself used this method very successfully thirty years ago, after attending a course at the Catholic hospital in Buffalo, New York.
At that time, however, I did not know that this form of contraception was called the 'Billings method'. In her book Say Goodbye to the Pill: Contraception with the Billings Method Evelyn Billings shows us how to read our bodies and recognise our fertile days in the monthly cycle.
A reviewer writes on Amazon: "With this information I was able to avoid a pregnancy without having to use other contraceptives. I only became pregnant when I was truly ready. And then it worked straight away, because thanks to this method I knew when I was fertile and when I was not."
Natural family planning using the ovulation method
The book provides a lot of scientific background (including studies that have demonstrated the effectiveness of the method). It also explains exactly what you need to do to use it reliably for contraception.
These are very, very important facts that every woman should know!
One of my students – a very intelligent woman and a nurse by profession – raises another important point that I would like to share with you. I have her permission to publish her remark here:
"Unfortunately, natural family planning has gained the reputation of being 'not reliable' enough, because this image has been very successfully 'conveyed' to the public and to medical professionals."
"I prefer to use the term Billings method because it is not so negatively charged. The valuable thing about the Billings method is the interpersonal contact that develops. You work with someone who explains and helps you interpret the signals of your body correctly. Furthermore, it is nice to be accompanied throughout the entire learning process. This is especially important because natural family planning is generally viewed with scepticism. Many women do not know that you get a lot of support in the courses."
If you want to contracept and plan independently when to start a family and how big it should be, you can also find information on the official website of the Billings method.
Homeopathy for menstrual complaints
We should not only celebrate Mother's Day, but also the independence and personal responsibility that the combination of homeopathy and natural contraception brings us. That way we retain control over our health.
Here is an example: once you are familiar with your menstrual cycle, you may find that your period can sometimes be heavier than usual. This is particularly the case when you have stopped taking the pill – which you should stop doing immediately for many reasons if you are still using oral contraception. During my observership at the Prasanta Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation in India, the following protocol proved effective in these cases: Sabina 6 taken every three hours as an emergency remedy directly during the heavy bleeding, combined with Arnica 3 for the pain.
Here Sabina and Arnica are combined into an effective remedy. It is best to take a few pellets of each remedy directly on the tongue so that they can unfold their full effect.
Every woman – and every mother – should know her body and have the confidence to take her health into her own hands. For this reason I will be writing over the next four weeks about two topics that concern all (would‑be) mothers – breastfeeding and rectus diastasis.
Is there a more beautiful gift for Mother's Day than a trove of homeopathic knowledge? You have probably read it from me many times, but I will not tire of emphasising it: protect yourself and your family. Do not rely exclusively on so‑called "experts", but take care of your family's health yourself – gently, effectively and without side effects.
Become your own heroine! I will help you with that.
Warmly,
Yours
