The differing perception of a pandemic

"It's the apocalypse"
Dear readers,
The title of my article today is what is generally called "clickbait".
Don't know the term? "Clickbait" or "click-bait" is an advertising strategy in which websites use sensational, provocative or frightening headlines to arouse curiosity and get you to click through as many articles as possible. This method is used not only by illegal websites but also by the mainstream media. In fact, it is the mainstream media that largely set the tone with this tactic.
Let's be honest – fear sells very well.
Today we live more than ever in an environment where fear is being stoked.
At the time of writing this article my husband and I are attending a three-day conference in Nashville, Tennessee. That also means we are staying in a hotel room with a television. We don't have one at home and on the first evening of our stay here we decided, for a change, to watch a bit of television.
I can only say: Wow!
I am completely stunned by how much attention the news channels are giving THE PANDEMIC. All the many deaths, the figures and the doctors. I now understand more than ever why I see so much panic in the eyes of people wearing masks.
Fear makes you ill
I have also realised how great the fear really is that has been instilled in people. It is not the virus itself that people are infected with, but FEAR.
And that is grotesque.
It is distorted.
It is depressing.
It is very, very sad.
The reason I have been so unaware of it until now is not only that I don't own a television, but because in my practice, in my life and in the clinic in Calcutta I have seen far more severe illnesses. I also have something bigger and better on my side; something that removes fear rather than increases it.
I have homeopathy, which gives me a perspective. Perhaps my naturally cheerful disposition and positive outlook on life are also a great advantage.
Rather than panicking I have trust. My staff and everyone who follows me on social media are also confident.
We know what to do and can carry it out with confidence. I would even go so far as to say that I can, in good conscience, pat myself on the back.
Recently one of my staff drew my attention to a headline she had found on the internet: "Plague alarm in Lake Tahoe".
Good heavens!
On further investigation – all it took was a quick Google search – it turned out that there had apparently been the suspicion of a case in which fleas or rats were thought to be the carriers.
But fine, I take that as an opportunity to think about how best to prepare ... especially in this year of the pandemic.
Homeopathy for emergencies
This is exactly where homeopathy excels. It offers an effective, elegant and autonomous healthcare option at any time, especially when things get tough. Whether it's wildfires, hurricanes, floods, pandemics or other illnesses – homeopathy has shown over the last 230 years that it can provide reliable answers to the problems associated with them. There are established treatment protocols for smoke inhalation, burns, mould allergies, viruses and – if necessary – even for bubonic plague.
When the World Trade Center was destroyed in September 2001, every resident in Buffalo, New York (then my place of residence) was convinced that Niagara Falls would be next, because the whole region could be cut off from the power grid. So much for fear – the residents of Buffalo were absolutely panicked!
At that time I had enrolled in a homeopathy programme in Toronto, Canada, and had the great privilege of learning alongside highly qualified homeopaths from around the world – each of us had at least five years' professional experience and many of my colleagues had developed their own emergency treatment protocols.
I was curious and wanted to know which homeopathic medicines they kept at home, in their towns and regions, for treating emergencies. Each of them had something unique to contribute. A doctor from Northern Ireland, for example, immediately told me how he treated injuries from Molotov cocktail attacks – a weapon frequently used in the Northern Irish conflict.
My classmates proved to be an incredibly valuable international resource.
In addition to the proven protocols of my colleagues I myself had started to compile new insights on epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters and even lightning strikes. My research covered every conceivable situation one could imagine – without having to call emergency services and perhaps even (depending on the situation) without requiring any medical assistance at all.
Over time these considerations receded somewhat, the situation eased and the unthinkable was simply forgotten again.
Baptisia tinctoria and the bubonic plague
Many years later I travelled to India to study with the Drs Banerji and my research into homeopathic emergency aid was revived. After all, the Banerji protocols are among the most successful and best researched homeopathic approaches there are. There is hardly any disease that the Banerjis have not successfully treated, including malaria, leprosy, tuberculosis and plague.
Speaking of plague: in the very, very early stages of this disease, when the typical exhaustion symptoms and limb pains occur, Baptisia tinctoria C30 has proven useful, taken once hourly until the symptoms improve.
There is no reason to be afraid. Not if you know what to do.
Years like 1918, 2001 or 2020 need not catch us unprepared. We will, admittedly, be painfully and abruptly reminded that even our rescue services can reach their limits, but we can also see this as an opportunity to take things into our own hands and care for ourselves. We will succeed by educating ourselves and learning more about homeopathy. My aim is to give you as much strength and knowledge as possible so that no "clickbait" can ever shake you again. I want to take away your fear. Instead, I want to give you confidence – and confidence comes from knowledge.
