Joette Calabrese

Hello, it's me – Buster, the cheeky office dog! Not long ago I was thinking of you. Do you remember that I wrote I would never get fleas? Guess what happened now.
That's right, you guessed it.
A few days after I'd been talking big here, they pounced on me. They must have read my blog; I can't explain it any other way.
I hate fleas.
Boy, did it itch! At first my owner thought it was my allergy and suspected I'd drunk too much raw milk. Believe me when I tell you I literally had to persuade her to look for FLEAS. She simply didn't hear it and only understood "Woof, woof". (These language misunderstandings can be exhausting.)
But I didn't give up and eventually my owner realised that my beautiful white coat had become the playground of a whole horde of bloodthirsty fleas. And you know my owner: she wastes no time and immediately got to work. And all that without toxic chemicals.
What did she give me? Well, for the itching I received Antimonium crudum C6 twice daily in combination with Arsenicum album C6. I'm telling you: these two remedies helped me immediately!
There are dogs for whom the little pellets have to be dissolved in water, but I prefer to lick them straight off the floor. (I know they do me good and, besides, they don't taste bad…).
After that my owner targeted those annoying fleas. First she dusted the whole house with diatomaceous earth. Everything was full of powder: the carpet, the cushions, the sofa, my basket, basically everywhere my blind passengers and I like to spend the day. Even outside she powdered my favourite spot on the lawn, the garden path and – hmm – the spot where I do my business. Wherever I was, there was powder.
My owner was merciless, even I wasn't spared!! There was so much powder and everything was so dry that I had to shake myself really hard. I probably overdid it a bit, because suddenly there was this huge cloud of dust around me, a veritable dust explosion, and then everything fell to the floor in slow motion…
My owner laughed a lot, which was great, because the dust was scattered all over the living room and I thought there was going to be trouble.
She got the hoover out and vacuumed everything up – every day. Then she powdered me and the house again – every day. That must have been an enormous amount of work for her, but she said it was worth it because she doesn't want the family and me to come into contact with all that chemical stuff.
It worked really well! I've never been so glad to get rid of uninvited guests.
My owner said that this year she'll start early to spread the diatomaceous earth on my favourite spots, before the fleas get any stupid ideas. She used a really complicated word for it. I think it was "prophylactic", could that be? It means that the fleas shouldn't come in the first place. (Why humans always have to use such pompous language I don't understand).
I'm just glad that my owner knew what to do about the fleas and gave me remedies so that this terrible itching would stop.
Luckily my owner exists – and homeopathy!!
