Are you facing surgery? Homeopathy can help

Before an operation we'd all prefer to avoid it. In fact, with good homeopathic treatment that is often possible. Nevertheless there are situations in which surgical intervention is unavoidable.
Fortunately our homeopathic remedies are perfect companions for these cases because they have no side effects, can be taken alongside conventional medication and do not interfere with standard therapy. With the following – very simple – homeopathic treatment protocol you will be prepared if you or a loved one needs going under the knife.
You may be surprised to read that in the USA around the turn of the 18th/19th century there were many homeopathic hospitals where skilful and experienced surgeons greatly valued homeopathy and used it before and after operations. In many other countries this is still the case today, including England, Switzerland, Germany and India.
Adjunct homeopathic therapy for surgical procedures
The following treatment protocol has proved itself in countless cases. It reduces the physical and emotional shock that surgery always entails, helps prevent infection, strengthens the immune system and alleviates post-operative pain. In addition, it can stabilise the patient's emotional state and promote a speedy recovery.
It is best to assemble a home medicine kit with the most important homeopathic remedies so that you are prepared for operations of any kind – from dental procedures and mole removal to organ removal. The stronger the pain, the more often you will need to take the remedy and the higher the potency should be.
If you have experience with homeopathic remedies, you can work with high potencies yourself. However, if you are not yet familiar with the homeopathic method, I recommend not exceeding potencies of C30 or C200.
For clarity I recommend potency C200 for the treatment protocols described here. A dose usually consists of 4 pellets (globuli); the patient's size and age do not matter.
From Arnica to Staphysagria
- Arnica montana C200 is given the day before the operation once in the morning and once in the evening. The dose is repeated on the day of the procedure, directly before the patient is prepared for surgery. Please remember that Arnica is given to minimise the risk of infection and to ease the shock that the operation represents to the system. In addition, Arnica reduces possible swelling, staunches bleeding and promotes the patient's general well‑being.
The remedy should also be given as soon as possible after the procedure and, depending on need, every two to three hours, then as often as necessary to relieve pain. If the pain persists, this is a sign that the remedy needs to be taken more frequently, possibly even hourly. - For very severe pain that does not respond to Arnica, Hypericum C200 can be given in addition. The two remedies are then taken alternately, e.g. Arnica on every even hour and Hypericum on every odd hour.
- Under certain circumstances other remedies may also be indicated, such as Staphysagria C200 to support wound healing. This remedy is given when the incision is very painful or has become inflamed.
- Nux vomica helps with nausea, constipation or diarrhoea after anaesthesia.
- Phosphorus is an important remedy for headaches and after‑effects following anaesthesia.
If complaints arise after an operation, please consider which of them trouble you most and then choose the homeopathic remedy that best fits your symptoms.
The classical homeopathic method
Do not take several remedies at the same time, except when you are in very severe pain or are being treated by a professional homeopath.
In some cases it may be sensible to undergo professional homeopathic treatment in order to cover all nuances and complications. But even with a well‑stocked home medicine kit you can achieve a great deal and set your family on the right path.
The homeopathic protocol gives you the option to accompany necessary procedures in a very elegant way. You will then appear to us in a completely different light…
After all, we homeopaths and mothers – we love options!
Warmly,
Yours
