A for Abrotanum for loss of appetite

News

Last week I wrote in Enough of the Chocolate! about what happens when you give in on Halloween and other holidays and snack on too much chocolate. But given the huge feasting at Halloween (paired with the sight of numerous skeletons haunting the dark streets) I also thought of people who do not eat enough! Whether this is a natural disposition or caused by illness, there are people who never feel hungry. Even a beautifully set table or a very tempting dish cannot get them to eat.

Since homeopathy offers an elegant solution for most problems, we should not have to sit idly by while our loved ones waste away to skin and bone.

Help for chronic loss of appetite

GAPS - Gut and Psychology Syndrome - Natasha Campbell-McBride

One of my clients once came to me in deep concern about his son – a pretty little boy who was literally wasting away because during the day he ate nothing but a few breadcrumbs (the thought of breadcrumbs reminds me of the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. For reasons of privacy I will therefore call the little boy Hansel).

Hansel had no appetite and consumed nothing except the occasional bite of bread and the odd sip of water. But as we know, people do not live by bread alone.

And certainly not small children.

Poor Hansel was literally starving. By the time his father contacted me the situation was already very serious. We had to act quickly, and homeopathy might not have been able to resolve this chronic condition immediately. As a life-saving measure, Hansel was therefore fitted with a feeding tube, which gave his parents enough time to treat the underlying problem homeopathically.

A for Abrotanum

At the same time as the feeding tube was put in, Hansel was given Abrotanum C6 by his parents twice daily. Gradually Abrotanum brought the little boy's appetite back until the doctors were able to remove the tube. After that Hansel kept his newly found interest in food and ate enough to regain strength and develop healthily.

This example nicely demonstrates that modern medicine has an important place in our healthcare. Homeopathy fits seamlessly into the necessary, conventional and life-saving measures. In Hansel's case conventional medicine provided a quick immediate solution for the acute situation, while homeopathy treated the long-term pathology.

It is important to note that this remedy is not only suitable for children and adolescents. People of any age can benefit from this medicine if they suffer from loss of appetite. Since I have already written in earlier blog posts about caring for older people, I would like here to share the experience of one of my staff members with Abrotanum C6 for her very elderly mother Eleanor.

Eleanor had lost more than ten kilograms in a very short time. As you know, I place great importance on ensuring that a correct diagnosis is made in principle. In this case no underlying disease could be found. The weight loss was simply the result of a loss of appetite. Even her favourite dishes did not tempt Eleanor. Every meal remained untouched.

My staff member was at her wit's end! You cannot force people into well-being; older people in particular often prove very stubborn.

And the good news? After only a few days of Abrotanum C6 Eleanor began to take an interest in food again. My staff member was completely surprised. It did not take long before her mother's weight began to stabilise and then she even gained weight. Eleanor literally devoured mountains of her favourite dishes and willingly tried things she had never touched before.

And as always the homeopathic remedy had no negative interactions with the medications Eleanor had to take. I say it again and again – homeopathy is a very polite and considerate form of therapy. It is so considerate that it can be called a true team player.

Of course the homeopathic Abrotanum should be discontinued as soon as the patient's condition has clearly improved. This applies to all other homeopathic remedies as well. The important thing is that you look very carefully and observe diligently. If Eleanor's loss of appetite were to return, for example, a repeated course of Abrotanum over several days would solve the problem.

Give strength

Caring relatives and professional carers already have more than enough worries without also having to worry about the nutrition of those in their care. Abrotanum is the homeopathic answer for small children, older people and everyone in between who suffer from loss of appetite – even pets respond well to it!

If friends or relatives complain of a lack of appetite, from now on you will know what you can do about it. Pass it on, because homeopathy helps!

Warmly,

Yours
