Produktinformationen
Vitamin B6 in the activated form of pyridoxal-5-phosphate
Vitamin B6 BIOACTIVE capsules from Unimedica contain pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P), the active form of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). In contrast to pyridoxine, the inactive form of vitamin B6, P-5-P can be directly used by the body. The otherwise essential conversion step from vitamin B6 to the active form – which uses micronutrients such as vitamin B2 and zinc – is therefore unnecessary.
The water-soluble vitamin B6 is important for normal functioning of nerves and psyche. Vitamin B6 also supports the immune system and cysteine synthesis. In addition it reduces fatigue and tiredness and contributes to the formation of normal red blood cells.
Vitamin B6 is a cofactor of numerous metabolic processes and regulates hormonal activity
Vitamin B6 takes part in a large number of enzymatic reactions in the body. It supports not just the formation and conversion of proteins and amino acids. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is also essential for the production of neurotransmitters. In addition it contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.
These sources provide the body with (inactive) vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 is found in many foods including fish, poultry, potatoes and lentils. Yet vitamin B6 is sensitive to heat, water and light. Therefore it is important to correctly store and cook these foods to preserve the vitamin levels.
Who particularly needs active vitamin B6?
The activation of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) normally requires micronutrients such as zinc and vitamin B2. Bioactive vitamin B6 from Unimedica provides the body rapidly and directly with the active form of pyridoxine, which can immediately be used for metabolism. This is especially important for people with an elevated need for vitamin B6 or who have too few of the micronutrients required for its conversion.
