Produktinformationen

Focuses on education and personal responsibility
There are books that enrich your life. For me, Hormone im Lot (Hormones in Balance) was one of them, and Briden's follow-up, Stoffwechsel im Lot (Metabolism in Balance), is no exception. Both books are aimed explicitly at female readers and make them aware of the processes and connections within their bodies. The knowledge I have gained from these books has already helped me enormously to understand my symptoms and act accordingly – whether in the form of a change in lifestyle and diet or by using helpful tips for my next visit to the doctor. This book shifts the focus slightly (but not completely) away from the female cycle and towards metabolic systems. Insulin resistance and nutrition are given a lot of attention. However, stress, sleep problems, thyroid disorders, food intolerances and digestive problems related to metabolism are also discussed – all, of course, taking into account the special characteristics of the female body. What I particularly liked about this work is that it does not prescribe THE ONE universal approach and does not make any exaggerated promises, but aims to provide the patient with exactly THE information that enables her to take responsibility for her own actions. She is treated as an equal, possible problems are taken seriously and explained in a precise and understandable manner. The author herself seems to be aware of the reaction of many doctors and empowers her readers by providing targeted preparation. At the beginning, you are given a rough overview of the topics and the connections between the individual systems. Later, specific details are discussed in more depth. Topics that do not apply to you can of course be skipped, but I strongly recommend reading the introductory information in its entirety beforehand. It is highly informative and fascinating! The book also contains numerous patient stories, tips, info boxes and helpful advice, which underline the impression that you have found someone who knows what they are talking about, who you can trust and who will support you in a knowledgeable and appreciative manner.
