Plague and Psyche
In view of the immense significance of the pandemic for societies around the world and for homeopathic practice in particular, we are devoting another issue to this topic, following our issues on the genus epidemicus and long Covid. Even if acute infections hopefully decline soon thanks to vaccination and acquired immunity, we will certainly be mired in the long-term effects of this global crisis for many years to come. For people of all ages, Covid-19 has become synonymous with multiple traumatic experiences: fears for their health, worries about work and the future, the loss of relatives without being able to say goodbye, restrictions on social contact and deprivation, being forced into lockdown without the opportunity to exercise and move freely, loss of artistic expression, and so on.
At the same time, the subjective experience of the pandemic has caused suppressed feelings and conflicts to come to light for many people. This combination of acute trauma and old wounds presents us with major challenges, but also offers a special opportunity for deep healing. The cases in this issue aim to show how homeopathy can make use of this opportunity.
