When a new phase of life gently comes knocking
Women over 40* complex from Unimedica has been specially developed for the needs of women over the age of 40. It contains a selected comprehensive nutritional combination of vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, coenzyme Q10 and hyaluron. The capsules with vitamin B6, pantothenic acid and iodine facilitate a timely transition to a new phase of life. Whereas vitamin B6 helps regulate hormonal activity, pantothenic acid contributes to normal synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones and iodine supports the normal production of thyroid hormones.
Tailored nutritional composition for women over 40
Our capsules for women over 40 contain the minerals and trace elements magnesium, iron, zinc, selenium, chromium, manganese, molybdenum, copper and iodine. These minerals are supported by the entire vitamin B complex as well as vitamins A, C, D, E and K. High-quality plant extracts such as green tea extract, chasteberry extract and ashwagandha powder supplement the nutritional spectrum.
Vitamins of the B group plus A, C and D support the body's own defences and key metabolic processes. Iron and vitamin B12 help create energy by reducing fatigue. Vitamins B5 (pantothenic acid) and B6 (pyridoxine) as well as the trace element iodine influence the hormonal balance, which in this phase of life naturally and gradually changes.
Grapeseed extract with OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanidin) provides secondary plant substances that protect the grapevine in nature from environmental influences and pathogens. Bamboo extract provides silicon, which is naturally concentrated in hair, skin and nails. Milk thistle extract contains the plant substance silymarin. Curcumin from turmeric powder, hyaluronic acid and coenzyme Q10 round off the broad nutritional spectrum found in "Women over 40*".
The B vitamins work together synergistically in the body, supporting metabolism, the immune system and cell protection. So it can be helpful to take the entire group of B vitamins so that they can work normally to support one another.
Vitamin D draws the mineral calcium from our food, helping to maintain the stability of the bones and teeth. It also plays a role for the immune system. It is made by the body itself in the presence of enough sunlight reaching the skin. Since that is not always possible in northern climes, an additional intake of vitamin D can certainly make sense. It should always be taken in combination with vitamin K2 so that the calcium reaches the places where it is needed, not deposited in the blood vessels.
What is the best nutrition over the age of 40?
All these nutrients are normally absorbed with a balanced and varied wholegrain diet. This includes green leafy vegetables, nuts, fruit and vegetables from the entire colour spectrum, wholegrain products, milk products, eggs, meat, innards and fatty fish, fungi as well as plant oils and fermented products. From the age of 40 the body makes different demands on our nutrition than it does at a younger age. The body gradually leaves its evolutionary tasks behind i.e. the body's own production of many substances required for structure and growth as well as reproduction, such as hormones, is gradually wound down.
Why it is sometimes not enough to eat healthily
So that food contains its full nutritional power including all natural substances in full quality and quantity, it should be organically grown to maturity and then processed when fresh with minimal intervention. A lot of sunlight is necessary for the body to make vitamin D. Unfortunately these ideal conditions are not always found in real life.
Modern agriculture and methods of processing, long storage times and transport routes mean that our food no longer has its full vitality. Fruit harvested before ripening has not yet released its full complement of nutrients. In addition it is difficult to obtain all nutrients solely from plant foods with a vegetarian or vegan diet. Vitamin B12, for example, is found exclusively in animal products. So the Women over 40* capsules from Unimedica can provide supportive and practical supplementation. They are vegan and contain a very wide spectrum of nutrients adapted to the special requirements of this phase of life.
