Nattokinase capsules from Unimedica contain nattokinase in a plant-based capsule shell, embedded in organic rice flour. Nattokinase is a fibrinolytic enzyme obtained from natto. Natto itself originates from a traditional Japanese dish of cooked, fermented soybeans, which were originally wrapped in rice straw to initiate fermentation.
For Unimedica's nattokinase capsules, soybean extract is fermented at low temperatures for 8 to 24 hours. Starter cultures containing bacteria of the Bacillus subtilis natto strain carry out the conversion of the soybeans into the ferment with beneficial properties for our wellbeing.
What is nattokinase good for?
Fermented foods are reputed to positively influence gut flora through their enzymes. The enzyme nattokinase also has fibrinolytic properties, i.e. it can break down the protein fibrin, which is involved in blood clotting. Therefore caution is advised when taken concurrently with anticoagulant medication. Prior consultation with a doctor is recommended.
Each capsule contains 100 mg of pure nattokinase. This corresponds to 2000 fibrinolytic units (FU = fibrinolytic unit), a high dose of this valuable enzyme.
Each jar contains 180 capsules. This corresponds to a 6-month supply.
Vegan and free from the following additives
Vegan capsule shell made from pure plant cellulose (HPMC), free from carrageenan and PEG. In accordance with legal requirements, Nattokinase from Unimedica is free from flavourings, colourings, stabilisers, preservatives and anti‑caking agents such as magnesium stearate, and is non‑GMO, lactose‑free, gluten‑free and gelatine‑free.
