Deep in the southeastern USA grows an unassuming plant whose dark, berry-like fruits have been prized for centuries: the saw palmetto (Serenoa repens). The harsh living conditions lead to the formation of a variety of secondary plant compounds that nourish and protect the saw palmetto, allowing it to survive in these inhospitable regions. Its extract is contained in these vegan capsules – highly concentrated and free from anything that doesn't belong. Each capsule contains a 10:1 extract from the fruits of the saw palmetto. This means ten parts of fruit were concentrated into one part of extract to maximise the concentration of active ingredients. The extract is enclosed in a plant-based capsule made from cellulose.

What kind of plant is the saw palmetto?

The saw palmetto is the only species in the plant genus Serenoa and belongs to the palm family. It is a hardy shrub with serrated leaf edges and a resilient nature. It withstands the harsh conditions of the US South – dry, sunny and barren. This tough energy is also reflected in its fruit extract.
