The manufacturer writes:
This pure rapeseed oil is cold-pressed from unhulled rapeseed, freshly milled. Mild in flavour, moderately heat-stable (e.g. suitable for quick frying) and particularly versatile in use.
Rapeseed oil (also called turnip oil, rube oil, colza oil or rape seed oil) is a vegetable oil obtained from the seeds of certain rapeseed varieties approved in Germany since 1973 (Brassica napus L. and Brassica rapa L.). The seeds of these cultivated plants are characterised by a very low content of erucic acid (0.5 to 1.5%) and bitter substances (glucosinolates) compared with the wild plant. This is what made rapeseed oil palatable for humans and animals in the first place.
From the oil-bearing seeds of regionally and ecologically grown 00-rapeseed (erucic-acid free), a highly valuable vegetable oil is obtained by cold pressing in the first press at pressing temperatures below 40°C, retaining secondary plant constituents such as lycopene, which belongs to the carotenoids.
Due to its low content of saturated fatty acids, its high content of the monounsaturated oleic acid and a balanced ratio of essential omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, culinary rapeseed oil is a nutritionally highly recommended edible oil for daily use. Cold-pressed organic rapeseed oil, when stored as recommended (well sealed in a dark bottle, protected from light and kept cool), has a shelf life of up to 12 months.
The distinctly nutty flavour pairs wonderfully with salads. Because of its relative heat stability, rapeseed oil is also well suited for steaming and cooking, and even for baking and quick frying. In the refrigerator rapeseed oil remains liquid and is therefore particularly suitable for marinating cheese and antipasti. It also complements egg and dairy products (e.g. for yoghurt dressings or mayonnaise) excellently. Rapeseed oil is ideal for a balanced diet and for daily use in the kitchen!
For frying, steaming, dressings, dips and marinades.
Note: Enjoy the oil as part of a varied and balanced diet.
