This Swiss stone pine oil producer is a very small operation from Austria. It is gently produced by an elderly man according to centuries-old tradition from crushed parts of the stone pine. His hands are like an open book, written by long years of work in the mountains and with the pines. He loves his work and enjoys the time at his steam still. This primal love for the trees and his genuine dedication to his craft apparently flow into the product. The pine residues come from timber harvesting (small branches, twigs with needles and cones) and surplus young trees. The pine residues are used as fuel for the distillation, so no fossil fuels are required.
The fabulously gnarled stone pine, also called the Queen of the Alps ("Arwen Evenstar"), can live up to 1,000 years and withstands the harsh mountain climate at dizzying altitudes. It is precisely this special altitude between 1,800 and 2,400 metres and the very slow growth that ensure the essential active constituents develop in high concentrations. The Swiss stone pine oil consists of pure natural essential oils without preservatives or other additives.
