Organic Chaga Capsules from Unimedica contain premium chaga extract with 30 % polysaccharides. The fungus chaga (Inonotus obliquus) grows in the northern forests and is known in England and Canada as "sterile conk trunk rot of birch".
For our capsules we only use certified organic chaga from wild harvesting.
"The pearl of the north"
In our part of the world chaga was almost forgotten. Chaga is not an edible fungus. It grows predominantly in the birchwoods of the far north as a black lump on the tree stem. Chaga or tschaga is used mainly in Russia or Canada as tea or an addition to coffee. The water-soluble polysaccharides it contains are also bioavailable for the human body.
These vegan and neutral-tasting chaga capsules make it possible to easily take a daily dose of chaga – in organic quality. The gentle water extraction of the tree fungus fruiting bodies dissolves the valuable ingredients, the polysaccharides.
How does the chaga get into the capsule?
The chaga extract for the capsules comes solely from the fruiting bodies of the fungus. This secures the high quality and purity. The fruiting bodies contain the entire range of ingredients characteristic of chaga. After harvesting, the tree fungus is gently dried at low temperature and subsequently ground into a powder. The chaga extract is derived from this powder with cleansed hot water. This preserves most ingredients. The capsules are made in certified facilities in Germany.
What is so special about chaga?
The chaga extract in our capsules contains 30 % polysaccharides. These play an important and varied role in our nutrition. They are complex carbohydrates, which consist of long-chain sugar molecules, occurring in various forms.
Which foods also contain polysaccharides?
Polysaccharides occur in carbohydrate-rich foods such as potatoes, rice, bread and noodles – especially wholegrain products – plus fruit and vegetables. The organic chaga delivers polysaccharides in concentrated form and is easy to take as capsules.
Each brown bottle contains 90 capsules. This is enough for 1.5 months.
