Jacqueline Peker wrote this book for all those who took part in the history of homeopathy, who fought for its recognition and who succeeded in giving it its rightful place. Tender and warm, it is read like a family album leafed through among friends, where the achievements of some mingle with the memories of others. As she notes in her introduction, not everyone is mentioned. For the sake of authenticity, she has indeed chosen to speak only of those she personally knew, friends, teachers, or often both: Pierre Barbier, Henri and Jean Boiron, Jacqueline Barbancey, Alain Horvilleur, Micheline Deltombe… Some wrote, others ran schools, societies, or directed care centres. In any case, they all passionately loved homeopathy, that great lady who does not grow old!

If there is an unconventional career, it is surely that of Jacqueline Peker. Throughout her encounters she offers us a life lived as an artist, whether on the cabaret stage or on the floors of stables, in laboratories or in the consulting room. At various times a veterinarian, homeopath, singer, comic performer, poet and, though approaching eighty after a life well lived, still rebellious.
