Fairvital's capsules contain 600 mg fermented red rice extract (Monascus purpureus) per serving, with 2.95 mg monacolin K and 40 mg L‑leucine. Fermented red rice is produced by fermenting rice with the microorganism Monascus purpureus. This gives the rice its characteristic red colour and a distinctive composition of fermented constituents. Red fermented rice is particularly widespread in China and is a component of traditional Chinese medicine.
