The mild Deodorant Balsam Cedar Litsea from Unimedica protects even sensitive skin from the smell of sweat. At the same time it pampers the tender skin under the armpits without irritation or clogging the pores. It has no aluminium, zinc oxide or sodium. The invigorating fresh scent is like a refreshing breeze around the body, guaranteeing security and self-confidence even in sweaty situations. Yet the balsam is economical to use so it’s the better budget option compared to deodorant roll-ons or sprays.

Odour-neutralising balsam for sensitive skin
Our Deodorant Balsam contains only natural ingredients. It consists of a small number of selected matching natural ingredients: almond oil calms and protects the skin down to the deeper layers, preventing it from drying out. Beeswax is moisturising and pampers sensitive skin without stickiness – this vegan substance confers a pleasant consistency to the balsam. Unlike creams, our Deodorant Balsam does not become runny when warm. It retains its consistency.

Works so well thanks to the natural power of the ricin tree
The zinc salts of the ricin (ricin salts) replace the usual sodium salts and zinc oxide. They are just as effective as a deodorant yet far gentler and more protective for the skin. Ricin salts do not inhibit the natural transpiration that is so important for the body since sweating itself is important for natural temperature control. Ricin salts take care of the bothersome side effects: the smell created by skin bacteria as they decompose the sweat. The ricin oil salts coat and bind the odours so that they do not reach our noses. And they achieve this without disturbing the natural skin flora at all.

The bacteria are killed by the well-known substance citric acid. No bacteria = no sweaty smells. Together with the ricin oils this is a winning combination against unpleasant odours.

Why the alcohol we use does not damage the skin
The cetearyl alcohol we use supports the long-lasting action of the balsam. Its composition of fatty alcohols and stearyl alcohols gives it a clean bill of health, unlike many alcohols that are viewed critically as cosmetics. It has moisturising properties, ensuring a soft and silky feeling on the skin.

No aluminium, zinc oxide or sodium
These days one thing is particularly important for deodorants: what do they not contain? We wanted to create a deodorant that protects but without damaging the hair or clothes. A deodorant that you can trust wherever you are. So our Deodorant Balsam obviously has no aluminium in it. Our Deodorant Balsam is also free of sodium. Too much sodium can dry out the sensitive armpit skin, leading to painful cracks and inflammation. We also decided to avoid the popular zinc oxide since it can damage clothes. It can generate tell-tale marks under the armpits and is known to leave a grey discolouration on clothes.

For the sake of the environment we decided not to use shea butter
Our Deodorant Balsam also contains no shea butter. So it has an ointment-like consistency that is not firm. Why? Because we place a premium on sustainability. In cosmetics shea has replaced the cheap and now notorious palm oil. The palm oil monocultures destroy habitats and damage the climate. Unfortunately the same thing has now happened to the alternative shea.

Another contribution to the environment: our reusable packaging in a white glass with a metal screw-top and a secure rubber seal, without plasticiser.

    Smells heavenly
    Because of my allergies, it has to be a product that is natural and contains no artificial fragrances, colourings, chemicals or musk compounds and certainly no aluminium!
    I think the deodorant balm is great, it has a pleasant consistency and I feel fresh all day long. I am surrounded by a stunningly good fragrance and it also cares for my rather dry skin under my arms.
    I can say that it inhibits the odour of sweat very well, even pullovers and T-shirts still smell pleasant on the underarm area the next day.
    Sweat is therefore well neutralised.
    In fact, there are no visible residues such as white edges.

    I have tried numerous deodorants without aluminium and none have worked as well as this deodorant. I sweat a lot, but the deodorant lasts reliably for 24 hours and is well tolerated.     I give it full marks! I've been looking for a good, effective deodorant for months and have moved away from all the Rexona's and Nivea's and other overpriced sprays that fail immediately after application and you arrive at the office with wet stains under your arms and feeling tired.
