Produktinformationen

– Kris Carr, New York Times Bestseller-Autorin von „Crazy Sexy Diet“

Vegan, raw, realistic.
Let me start by saying - I am thrilled! Every line of this book speaks of great expertise and a sincere, intensive examination of the topic of vegan nutrition. Raw vegan food takes centre stage here, integrated into the context of a comprehensive nutritional theory of plant-based food without animal ingredients. The author has acquired her expertise over many years as a food blogger. She devotes around a third of the book to the most important and most frequently asked questions about veganism. The chapters "Frequently asked questions..." and "Myths and misunderstandings" also provide newcomers with well-founded arguments and additional facts if someone has decided in favour of a vegan diet for emotional reasons. vegan diet for emotional reasons. Gena Hamshaw also addresses controversial topics, e.g. soya products, explains her own point of view, but also allows for a different perspective. There are various examples/nutrition plans of how a completely raw vegan day can be organised. This comprehensive introduction to the topic also makes the book a perfect gift if, for example, you want to share your own enjoyment of vegan nutrition with friends or family without lecturing! The main part of the book is made up of delicious recipes for every time of day and every occasion and the accompanying illustrations. Once again, I love the authentic, realistic approach - you can just feel that the author lives what she writes and also knows her readers and their needs! She describes her own proportion of raw food as around 75%, which may be higher or lower depending on the season and occasion. And so This is also how she introduces the reader to the recipes: predominantly raw recipes (prepared below 42 degrees), but the oven is also used here and there. Each recipe is accompanied by additional explanations, background information and, very often, possible variations. Almost all of the dishes are quick to prepare and suitable for everyday use, using mostly familiar ingredients - so there is little inhibition to actually make a lot of them. If you get involved, you can quickly develop confidence and creativity with the new preparation methods. within a short space of time. The handy format and the flexible but sturdy cover also make the book a book that deserves a permanent place in the kitchen! For the reader who wants even more vegan input, Gena Hamshaw has included a multi-page index with recommended reading and links. The list of recipes, one in the order in the book, the other by category, is also very clear and "tidy" and therefore absolutely suitable for everyday use. Here are a few examples by category: - Milk, juices, smoothies ("Blueberry-mint-green cabbage smoothie") - Breakfast ("Baked sweet potatoes with vanilla almond butter and goji berries") - Snacks ("Zucchini Ranch Chips") - Lunch ("Sprouted wraps with kale slaw filling") - Dressings, sauces, dips and spreads ("Simple vegan pesto") - Salads ("Simple massaged kale salad") - Dinners ("Raw root vegetable ravioli with nut cheese and pesto") - Desserts ("Raw vegan blueberry and ginger ice cream" and because the desserts are particularly delicious, another one: "Raw peach cobbler") In short, a great book, not just for browsing through, but for browsing, lingering and putting into practice!
